Heart to Heart Connection

Heart to Heart Connection

Chapter 1: Fate collided

Aisha's fingers danced across the canvas, paint swirling into a vibrant mess of colors. She was lost in her art, the world outside fading into the background. The scent of turpentine and linseed oil filled her tiny studio, a cozy chaos of creativity.

The doorbell rang, breaking the spell. Aisha wiped her hands on her jeans, leaving streaks of blue and yellow.

"Coming!" she called out.

It was the café delivery guy, with a warm smile and her favorite coffee. "On the house, Aisha. Compliments of the chef."

Aisha's eyes lit up. "Thanks, Krish! Tell Marco I said thanks."

As she sipped her coffee, her mind wandered to the art show last night. One painting had caught a stranger's eye - Rohan. She'd almost forgotten about him.

The clock ticked past 11. Time for a break. Aisha grabbed her sketchbook and headed to the Italian café on Lobo Street. Neha would be waiting.

At the café, Neha waved from a corner table. As Aisha joined her, the door swung open. Rohan walked in, his eyes scanning the room. When they met Aisha's, a spark flickered.

"Aisha," he said, approaching their table.

Aisha's words got stuck. This was the guy...

"Mind if I join?" Rohan asked, his smile hinting at secrets.

Neha chimed in, "Not at all. I'm Neha."

The conversation flowed - art, travel, dreams. Aisha found herself laughing, feeling seen. Rohan's guard slipped, revealing a glimpse of vulnerability.

As coffee cups emptied, Rohan glanced at his watch. "I have a meeting. Nice running into you, Aisha."

Aisha nodded, a flutter in her chest. "Likewise."

The door closed behind Rohan. Neha squealed, "Chemistry alert!"

Aisha rolled her eyes, chuckling. "Just met him, Don't read too much into it, Neha".

Neha leaned in, her voice dropping to a whisper. "There's something about him, Ash. Can't quite put my finger on it."

Aisha raised an eyebrow. "You're not exactly subtle, you know."

Their laughter was interrupted by the waiter, refilling their coffee cups. Aisha took a sip, her mind still lingering on Rohan.

"What do you think he does?" Neha asked, curiosity sparkling in her eyes.

Aisha shrugged. "Didn't exactly exchange business cards."

Neha grinned mischievously. "Maybe you should've asked him out for a drink."

Aisha playfully rolled her eyes. "Not my style, Neha."

The café was filling up, the aroma of freshly baked focaccia wafting through the air. Aisha's stomach growled, reminding her she hadn't eaten breakfast.

"Let's order something," she said, scanning the menu.

As they debated between bruschetta and paninis, Aisha's phone buzzed. A message from an unknown number flashed on her screen.

"Is this Aisha? Rohan here. Had a great time chatting. I would love to discuss art sometime."

Aisha's heart skipped a beat. "Neha, look," she whispered, showing her phone.

Neha's eyes widened. "Respond, girl!"

Aisha's fingers hovered over the keyboard. What to say?

"How about coffee sometime?" she typed, cringing at the cliché. No, that wasn't it.

Neha was watching, expectant. "Come on, Ash, don't overthink it."

Aisha deleted the message. "Okay, okay." She tried again. "Sounds good. Where's the gallery?"

Rohan replied instantly. "Near the waterfront. I'll pick you up at 5 pm tomorrow."

Aisha's heart skipped. "He's picking me up?"

Neha squealed. "Omg, this is happening!"

Aisha showed Neha the messages. "What do I wear?"

Neha's eyes sparkled. "Something artsy. And heels."

The café was getting noisy. Aisha flagged down the waiter. "Check, please."

As they settled the bill, Aisha couldn't shake the buzz. Rohan was intriguing.

Outside, Neha hugged her. "Spill the deets tomorrow."

Aisha nodded, grinning. "Will do."

She headed home, lost in thoughts of Rohan, art, and possibilities.
