Chapter 2: Excitement and Curiosity

Aisha woke up to a sunny morning next day, her mind immediately jumping to the gallery visit with Rohan. She stretched, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves.

As she sipped her coffee, she couldn't help but wonder about Rohan's story. What drove him to collect art? What was behind his calm, composed exterior?

Neha texted: "Ongoing interrogation. Spill."

Aisha laughed, typing away. "Gallery's near the waterfront. He's picking me up at 5."

Neha replied instantly. "Heels. Red lipstick."

Aisha rolled her eyes, smiling. She spent the day lost in her art, trying to shake off the anticipation building up.

As 5 pm approached, Aisha stood before her wardrobe, debating outfits. She finally settled on a flowy black top and dark jeans – artsy yet laid-back.

The doorbell rang. Aisha's heart skipped. Rohan was here.

"Hey," he said, smiling, looking effortlessly stylish in a white shirt and jeans.

Aisha smiled back. "Hey."

The gallery was a treasure trove of modern art. They strolled, discussing everything from technique to inspiration. Aisha found herself lost in conversation, hours passing in a blink.

As they stepped outside, the sun dipped into the sea. "Want to grab dinner?" Rohan asked, his eyes locking onto hers.

Aisha hesitated for a while. "Sure", her voice barely audible, but Rohan's smile widened. "Great, I know a spot nearby."

They walked to a small seafood restaurant overlooking the water. The tables were set with candles, the smell of grilled fish wafting through the air. Aisha's stomach growled slightly – she'd skipped lunch.

Rohan noticed. "Hope you're hungry."

Aisha laughed. "Starving, actually."

They ordered – grilled prawns for Rohan, seafood pasta for Aisha. As they waited for food, Rohan asked about her art.

Aisha's eyes lit up. "I love experimenting with colors, textures... trying to capture emotions."

Rohan listened intently, asking questions that made Aisha think deeper about her work. The food arrived, and they dug in, conversation flowing easily.

As they ate, Aisha learned about Rohan's business – he built tech startups. "But art's my escape," he said, his expression softening.

Aisha felt a connection sparking. "Same here. Art's where I'm most myself."

The night grew darker, stars twinkling above. Rohan paid the bill, saying, "Thanks for dinner... and the chat."

Aisha smiled. "Thanks for showing me the gallery."

Outside, Rohan walked her to her door. "Want to do this again?" he asked, his eyes searching hers.

Aisha's heart fluttered. "I'd like that." Rohan's smile was her answer, a soft, genuine curve of his lips.

"Tomorrow, maybe?" he asked, his voice low.

Aisha's mind spun – tomorrow was soon. "Sure," she said, trying to sound casual.

They stood there, a breath apart, the night air thick with possibility. Aisha felt a flutter in her chest.

"Goodnight, Aisha," Rohan said finally, turning to leave.

"Night," Aisha whispered, watching him walk away.

She slipped inside, her heart was still buzzing. Neha was going to freak out.
