Chapter 1: The Girl Who Touched the Stars

The village of Elarion’s Edge was always quiet at night.

While others slept, Lyra lay awake, staring at the sky through her small window. The stars seemed brighter than usual, almost as if they were calling her.

She didn’t know why—but she felt different.

Ever since she was a child, Lyra had strange dreams. Dreams where she stood among the stars, reaching out as they whispered her name. No one else heard them. No one else understood.

“Lyra, you think too much,” her aunt would often say.

Maybe she was right.

But tonight felt… unusual.

A soft breeze slipped through her window, carrying a faint glow with it. Lyra sat up slowly, her heart beating faster. The air shimmered, and for a moment, she thought she was imagining it.

Then she saw it.

A single star—falling.

But instead of disappearing, it streaked across the sky and landed somewhere beyond the forest.

Lyra stood frozen.

“That’s not normal…” she whispered.

Without thinking, she grabbed her shawl and slipped outside. The village was silent, the moon casting pale light on the empty paths. Her feet carried her toward the forest, drawn by something she couldn’t explain.

The deeper she went, the brighter the glow became.

Soon, she reached a small clearing.

And there it was.

A piece of the sky lay before her—a glowing crystal, pulsing with soft, golden light.

Lyra hesitated.

“This is a bad idea,” she murmured.

But something inside her pushed forward.

Slowly, she knelt and reached out.

The moment her fingers touched the crystal—

Light exploded around her.

A sudden warmth surged through her body, and the world seemed to pause. The trees stood still, the wind stopped, and even the night itself held its breath.

Lyra gasped.

Her hands were glowing.

Tiny sparks of light danced between her fingers like living stars.

“What… is happening to me?”

A voice answered.

“Finally… you’ve awakened.”

Lyra spun around, her heart racing.

From the shadows of the trees stepped a tall figure, cloaked in darkness. His eyes glowed faintly, watching her with quiet intensity.

“Who are you?” she demanded, stepping back.

The stranger didn’t move closer.

“My name is Kael,” he said calmly. “And you… are in more danger than you realize.”

Lyra tightened her grip on the glowing crystal. “I don’t understand any of this.”
