The night after the rain felt different.
The campus of Haneul University looked peaceful under the dim streetlights, but Rosé could feel something shifting around her—like the calm before a storm.
Ever since that evening in the music room with Jimin, things had started changing.
Jimin wasn’t just someone she occasionally saw anymore.
Now he appeared everywhere.
Near the library.
Outside the music building.
Even walking silently beside her across the campus paths.
He never forced conversation, but his presence felt… protective.
And strangely comforting.
But tonight, something else was happening.
Rosé was sitting in the campus café with Jungkook.
Jungkook had always been friendly with everyone. He was cheerful, energetic, and far less intimidating than Jimin.
He had simply offered to help Rosé with a photography assignment.
But from across the street…
Someone was watching.
Jimin.
Leaning against a black car under the streetlight.
His eyes were calm.
Too calm.
But inside him, something darker was slowly rising.
The Spark of Jealousy
Inside the café, Rosé laughed softly as Jungkook showed her some pictures on his camera.
“This one is good,” she said. “The lighting looks beautiful.”
Jungkook grinned.
“Of course. I had a good model.”
Rosé blinked. “Model?”
“You.”
Her cheeks flushed.
Outside, Jimin’s fingers tightened slightly around the cigarette he hadn’t even lit.
He watched Jungkook lean a little closer.
Too close.
The calm expression on Jimin’s face slowly disappeared.
Jealousy wasn’t new to him.
But this felt different.
Because Rosé wasn’t just anyone.
She was his quiet girl.
And someone else standing too close to her felt… wrong.
Very wrong.
The Warning
When Rosé finally left the café, Jungkook walked beside her toward the dormitory path.
“Thanks for helping me today,” Jungkook said.
“It was fun,” Rosé replied.
Then Jungkook suddenly stopped walking.
Rosé looked up.
Jimin was standing directly in front of them.
The air turned cold.
Jungkook’s smile faded slightly.
“Well… if it isn’t Jimin.”
Jimin ignored him.
His eyes were only on Rosé.
“You’re out late.”
Rosé felt nervous for some reason.
“We were just finishing the assignment.”
Jimin’s gaze moved to Jungkook for the first time.
A slow, quiet look.
The kind that made people uncomfortable.
Jungkook crossed his arms.
“What?”
Jimin spoke calmly.
“Go home.”
Jungkook raised an eyebrow.
“Excuse me?”
“I wasn’t talking to you,” Jimin said quietly.
Rosé quickly stepped between them.
“Jimin, it’s okay—”
But Jimin’s voice cut through the air.
“You shouldn’t walk with him at night.”
Rosé blinked.
“Why?”
The silence that followed was heavy.
Then Jimin stepped closer.
Too close.
His voice dropped into something low and dangerous.
“Because I don’t like it.”
The Storm Breaks
Jungkook scoffed.
“You don’t like it? Since when do you control who she talks to?”
Jimin slowly turned his head.
His eyes had changed.
The calm warmth Rosé usually saw was gone.
Now there was something darker.
Colder.
“You should be careful about how you talk,” Jimin said softly.
Jungkook laughed.
“Or what?”
The streetlight flickered above them.
Then Jimin stepped forward.
Just one step.
But the atmosphere shifted instantly.
Everyone on campus knew something about Jimin.
Not rumors.
Facts.
He wasn’t someone people fought with.
Jungkook seemed to remember that too.
His smile faded.
Rosé grabbed Jimin’s arm quickly.
“Stop.”
Her voice was soft but firm.
Jimin looked down at her hand.
Then slowly at her face.
The darkness in his eyes softened slightly.
“For you,” he said quietly.
Jungkook shook his head.
“Whatever, man.”
He turned and walked away.
But before leaving, he looked back once.
And muttered,
“You’re too controlling.”
Possession
The moment Jungkook disappeared around the corner, silence returned.
Rosé released Jimin’s arm.
“You didn’t have to do that.”
Jimin didn’t answer immediately.
Instead he looked at the empty road where Jungkook had walked.
Then he spoke.
“You smiled a lot with him.”
Rosé blinked.
“What?”
“In the café.”
“You were watching?”
“Yes.”
Her heart skipped.
“Why?”
Jimin’s eyes locked with hers.
Because he didn’t know how to say the truth normally.
So he said it simply.
“I don’t like seeing someone else make you laugh.”
Rosé froze.
“Jimin…”
He stepped closer again.
This time there was no anger.
Only intensity.
“You don’t understand the world I live in,” he said quietly.
“But when I see someone getting too close to you…”
His fingers gently lifted a strand of her hair.
“…it makes me want to remove them from the picture.”
Rosé’s heart started beating faster.
“Remove…?”
Jimin smiled slightly.
“Relax.”
But something in his voice said he wasn’t completely joking.
The Midnight Escape
To change the tension, Rosé asked softly,
“Why are you here tonight?”
Jimin glanced toward the road.
Then back at her.
“Because I wanted to take you somewhere.”
“Now?”
“Yes.”
Rosé hesitated.
“But the dorm closes in an hour.”
Jimin smirked.
“Then we shouldn’t waste time.”
Before she could protest, he gently took her hand and led her to the black car.
Moments later they were driving away from the campus.
The city lights slowly faded behind them.
Wind rushed through the slightly open window.
“Where are we going?” Rosé asked.
“You’ll see.”
After twenty minutes, the car stopped near a cliff overlooking the ocean.
The place was completely empty.
Only moonlight and waves.
Rosé stepped out slowly.
“It’s beautiful…”
Jimin walked beside her.
“This is where I come when things get loud.”
“Loud?”
“My world.”
They stood near the edge, watching the dark water crash against the rocks.
The wind moved Rosé’s hair gently.
Jimin looked at her quietly.
Something about the moonlight on her face made his chest tighten.
“You shouldn’t trust me so easily,” he said suddenly.
Rosé turned to him.
“Why?”
“Because people like me ruin quiet things.”
She shook her head.
“I don’t believe that.”
He stepped closer.
“Rosé…”
The distance between them disappeared.
“You’re dangerous for someone like me.”
Her voice trembled slightly.
“Why?”
“Because I start wanting things I shouldn’t.”
The wind grew stronger.
The ocean roared below them.
Then Jimin leaned down slightly.
His voice barely above a whisper.
“Like keeping you all to myself.”
Rosé’s heart pounded loudly.
For a moment neither moved.
Then she smiled softly.
“You’re very dramatic.”
Jimin laughed quietly.
But his eyes were still serious.
“You haven’t seen dramatic yet.”
Far away, thunder rolled over the ocean.
The storm was coming.
And somewhere deep inside Jimin’s world…
something darker had already begun moving toward them.
