Room number 7, closed for years, was known for one thing: whoever entered it never returned… or, if they did, they were no longer human.
One stormy night, a strange girl arrived at the lodge. She held an old map, her eyes filled with more determination than fear. She told the new watchman, "I want to open room number 7."
Fear flashed across the watchman's face for a moment, then he said softly, "If the door opens… then what is closed will never be closed again."
But the girl didn't stop.
In the middle of the night, she broke the rusty lock. The door creaked… and ice-cold air gushed from within. The room seemed larger than before—as if it weren't a room, but an endless corridor.
Hundreds of photographs hung on the walls—each depicting the same people who had been declared missing for years.
In the middle of the room sat an iron chest, on which, in blood-like letters, was written:
"Do not open. The dream will awaken."
As soon as she touched the box, the door slammed shut behind her.
Suddenly, the room echoed with children's laughter... then cries... then a chorus of whispers:
"Let us out..."
With trembling hands, she opened the box.
There was nothing inside—only a broken mirror.
But the mirror didn't reflect her face.
It reflected the same woman with inverted legs...
And behind her stood the lodge's first owner, who had died 70 years earlier.
A voice came from the mirror:
"This lodge doesn't swallow people... it captures their fear.
And now... your fear is the strongest."
Suddenly, the eyes of all the pictures on the walls began to move.
The girl ran out, but the lodge had changed—there was no door, no staircase, just an endless, dark corridor.
In the morning, the villagers saw—the old lodge had been completely burned down.
Only one thing remained in the ashes—
that same broken mirror.
And now there was a new image in it...
of that girl.
But the scariest thing was this—
someone was standing behind her in the mirror,
slowly making their way out...
Years ago, when the "Shantiniketan Lodge" was newly built, a woman lived there—the lodge owner's wife. The villagers called her "Maya."
Maya was no ordinary woman. It was said that she had the power to walk in people's dreams. She could see the fears of those sleeping at night—and even make them come true if she wanted.
Initially, she used this power to help people.
But one night, a terrible fire broke out in the lodge. Her young son was trapped in room number 7.
Maya tried to save him, but the owner locked the door from the outside—because he feared that Maya's powers would destroy everyone.
Maya's heart was shattered when she saw her son burning.
Before dying, she cursed:
"Those who ignored my child's cries, their fear will never sleep."
Her soul was trapped in room number 7 that very night.
But how did she become the woman with inverted legs?
Because when she fell into the fire, her body was burned and twisted—and her soul remained trapped in that distorted form.
The broken mirror was, in effect, her prison.
Every time someone opened it, Maya would take with her a new fear, a new soul.
The girl who had come in the third part—she was no ordinary traveler.
She was Maya's own descendant... her great-granddaughter.
She had been sent to destroy the lodge.
On the last night, she stood before the mirror again and said:
"I have come to free you."
Maya cried for the first time in the mirror.
As the girl broke the mirror, the entire lodge shook. All the spirits trapped in the walls came out screaming.
Maya's figure slowly calmed down... her distorted face returned to normal.
Before disappearing, she said:
"No more dreams will awaken..."
In the morning, where the lodge had been, there was only empty land.
But the story didn't end there.
A few months later, a new hotel was built on the same site.
On the very first day, someone from inside wrote on the wall of room number 7—
"Mother... I'm still here."
And below were small, burned footprints.
