My mafia husband begged me to come back chapter 2

Part 1 : A Truth Too Cruel

I couldn’t breathe.

The words echoed in my head—He sold her to me.

Rayan stepped closer, his presence suffocating. “You weren’t supposed to hear that.”

“Is it true?” My voice broke. “Did my father really sell me like I’m nothing?”

His silence was my answer.

Tears blurred my vision. “How much?”

His jaw tightened. “That doesn’t matter.”

“It matters to me!” I shouted, my chest heaving. “Was I cheap? Or did I at least cost enough to make it worth destroying my life?”

For a moment, something dangerous flashed in his eyes. Then, in a low voice, he said, “You were never cheap.”

The words didn’t comfort me—they shattered me further.

I laughed bitterly. “Congratulations. You bought yourself a wife.”

His hand shot out, gripping my wrist. “Don’t twist this.”

“Then explain it!”

But he didn’t.

Instead, he let go and stepped back, his face returning to that cold, unreadable mask.

“You’ll understand one day,” he said.

“I don’t want to understand,” I whispered. “I want out.”

“You don’t get out,” he replied simply.

And just like that, hope died inside me.

Part 2: The Enemy Within

Days passed in silence.

I avoided Rayan, and he didn’t try to stop me. But the mansion… it watched.

Every corridor felt like it had eyes.

One evening, I wandered into the garden, desperate for air. That’s when I saw her.

A woman. Beautiful. Elegant.

And standing far too close to my husband.

She smiled at him like she belonged there.

“Rayan,” she said softly, touching his arm.

My stomach twisted.

He didn’t move away.

Something cold settled inside me.

I stepped forward. “Am I interrupting something?”

Both of them turned.

The woman’s gaze swept over me, amused. “So this is your wife.”

“This is none of your concern, Zara,” Rayan said sharply.

Zara.

She smiled. “Everything about you is my concern.”

Her eyes met mine, filled with something unsettling. “You should be careful. Not everyone here wants you alive.”

My blood ran cold.

“What does that mean?” I asked.

But she only laughed softly and walked away.

I turned to Rayan. “Who is she?”

“Someone you should stay away from,” he replied.

“Is she your lover?”

His silence was louder than any answer.

And just like that, another piece of me broke.

Part 3: Cracks in the Ice

I stopped eating.

Stopped sleeping.

Stopped caring.

But Rayan noticed.

One night, he entered my room without warning. “You look terrible.”

“Leave,” I muttered.

Instead, he walked closer.

“You think starving yourself will change anything?”

“I think I don’t belong here,” I said quietly.

For the first time, his voice softened. “This is your home now.”

“It will never be.”

Something flickered in his eyes—pain?

“You don’t know what I’ve done to keep you safe,” he said.

I let out a hollow laugh. “By buying me?”

His jaw clenched. “You’re alive because of me.”

“Was I in danger before you ruined my life?”

He didn’t answer.

That scared me more than anything.
