"I don't care," she insisted, placing a thick folder on the table. "I have selected suitable candidates from respectable families. Look at them. Choose one to be your wife. Or I will choose for you, and you know I will pick whoever I like."

Felix opened the folder lazily. He scanned through photos of elegant, rich women. They all looked the same—pretentious and greedy. But suddenly, his finger stopped.

There was a photo of a young woman. She looked delicate, with beautiful features mixed with Asian and Western elegance. But what caught his attention was her eyes. They looked sad, innocent, and pure.

"Her," Felix pointed, his voice deep and decisive. "I choose this girl. Chloe Chain."

On the other side of the city, inside the luxurious mansion of the Chain family, life was different.

Chloe’s heart sank. "Mafia? Is he... old?"

Tears welled up in Chloe’s eyes, but she held them back. She knew she had no choice. She was just a tool for their business. But deep inside, she thought: If I marry him, I can leave this house. I can escape this cruelty. Even if he is old and scary, at least I will be free.

"Okay," Chloe whispered, her voice trembling but firm. "I agree. I will marry him."

She signed the marriage contract without even seeing the groom’s face. Her parents were delighted, thinking they had married her off to an old, wealthy don.
