Chapter 5 — The Hunt Begins Beneath Two Worlds

The Court of Demons and Monsters

Far beyond Earth, where the sky itself seemed carved from darkness, a vast court stood in silent dominance. Thrones lined the hall like shadows given form, and at its center sat the King—the ruler of demon lords, monster lords, and beings that defied even the idea of gods.

His gaze shifted slowly, landing upon the Monster Lord.

The air tightened.

“What happened to Stroug? There has been no message from him. What is his status?”

Silence followed.

The Monster Lord did not answer.

And that silence… invited disrespect.

A low chuckle echoed from one side of the court.

“What is this? Has the great Monster Lord lost his voice along with his soldier?”

Another voice joined, sharper, mocking.

“Or perhaps his army is not as terrifying as he claims.”

A third demon leaned forward with a cruel grin.

“If one human world can silence your beast… what does that make you?”

The murmurs spread like poison.

Then—

It stopped.

A wave of raw, violent aura exploded from the Monster Lord, crushing the air itself. The laughter died instantly.

In a single motion, he lunged forward, gripping one of the mocking demons by the throat and lifting him effortlessly. The demon struggled, choking as fear replaced arrogance.

Before it could escalate further—

Another presence rose.

Dark. Controlled. Absolute.

The Demon Lord stepped forward and seized the Monster Lord’s arm, forcing it to halt mid-air. His gaze burned with quiet authority.

“Fools do nothing but let their emotions control them.”

The Monster Lord released his grip.

The court fell silent again.

Watching everything unfold, the King finally spoke, his voice calm yet impossible to ignore.

“If your army is so capable, Demon Lord, then send one of your demons to Earth. I want a report on what happened there.”

No one questioned him.

The decision was final.

As the gathering dissolved, footsteps echoed across the hall. A Controller approached the King, urgency hidden beneath discipline, waiting for the right moment to speak.

Zoick’s Transformation and Sang-Jaey’s Escape

Back on Earth, silence did not last.

The lab—

Exploded.

Fire burst outward, devouring steel and glass alike. Scientists who were in the lab — thrown back, Dr.kwan and remaining scientists rushed to the scene, coughing through the thick smoke , and this smoke choked the air as alarms screamed through the chaos.

From within the flames—

Something moved.

A figure stepped forward.

Massive. Muscular. No longer human.

Zoick emerged, his body reshaped into something far beyond its limits. His eyes glowed with a beast-like intensity, every step carrying weight, power… and something darker.

Meanwhile, far from the destruction—

Sang-Jaey ran.

His breath was uneven, his body still adjusting to something he could not understand. But his mind held one thought—his classmates.

A memory flashed through him.

The school courtyard… the principal handing out room cards… laughter before the trip began.

That place. That hotel. He ran faster.

Moments later, he reached the gates, gasping for air. Inside, his classmates were in chaos—bags packed, voices panicked, everyone rushing to leave.

Confused, he stepped forward, calling out,

“Ma’am, what’s happening? Why are you all in such a hurry?”

His teacher turned.

Her eyes widened instantly, disbelief shaking her voice.

“Sang-Jaey… is that really you?”

He frowned, still trying to understand.

“Yes, ma’am, it’s me. Why is everyone running?”

Fear took over her expression. She stepped closer, urgency replacing shock.

“This isn’t the time to talk! Just hurry and get in, fast!”

But Sang-Jaey didn’t move.

Everything felt wrong.

Too fast. Too unreal.

And so, instead of stepping forward—

He stepped back.

A quiet decision formed inside him.

This isn’t real.

This has to be a nightmare.

And with that thought—

He turned.

And ran away.

Zoick’s Fury and Bloodshed

Back at the ruins of the lab, silence returned—but it carried terror within it.

The remaining scientists stood frozen as Zoick approached them, his presence suffocating.

A slow smirk spread across his face.

“I’m ready now. Hand over the spell.”

Dr. Kwan stepped forward, but even he could not hide the tension in his voice.

“The spell… it’s gone.”

Everything stopped.

Zoick’s smile vanished.

The air grew heavy.

“Who did this?”

No one answered.

One scientist trembled, about to speak—but others pulled him back, fear sealing their voices.

Zoick noticed. Of course he did.

Understanding flashed across his eyes.

Without warning—

He moved.

His hand shot forward, grabbing a scientist by the head—and in a single, brutal motion— It was over.

The body collapsed.

Blood spread across the floor.

The rest stood frozen, their fear now absolute.

Zoick’s voice returned, colder than before.

“If you won’t tell me… this will happen to each of you.”

That was enough.

The silence broke.

“Sang-Jaey…”

The name echoed weakly through the room.

Zoick tilted his head slightly.

“Where is he from?”

The answer came, broken and desperate.

“We… we don’t know, sir…”

Zoick closed his eyes for a brief moment.

Then—

He smiled again.

The Demon Lord’s Reluctant Choice

Back in the court, the Demon Lord stood before his followers, his command already given.

But no one stepped forward.

Not a single demon moved.

The silence was heavy, filled with fear they dared not admit.

The Demon Lord’s patience thinned.

His gaze shifted, slowly checking one by one , until—

And landed on one.

A Demon Soldier. He tilted his head as he commanded him to descend to the earth.

The chosen one trembled instantly, stepping forward with hesitation.

“My Lord, please… select another. I am not capable of handling this mission.”

The Demon Lord’s eyes narrowed.

“Are you afraid? Do you believe what happened to Stroug will happen to you as well?”

The soldier’s voice faltered.

“My Lord…”

But he was cut off.

“This is my final decision. We are demons. We do not fear. We must be strong.”

Silence followed.

Then—

The soldier straightened.

Fear still lingered—but something else rose with it.

Acceptance.

He bowed deeply.

“I understand, my Lord. I am ready to go.”

And with that—

The path to Earth was chosen.

Zoick Senses Sang-Jaey

Back on Earth, Zoick stood still amidst destruction.

His eyes slowly closed.

The world around him shifted—not in sight, but in sense.

Energy. Presence. Life.

And then—

He found it.

Two signals.

One… wild. Ancient. Unstable.

The other…

Familiar.

A slow, dangerous smile formed.

“Got you, kid.”

The Shocking Message from Earth

Back in the court, just as the King prepared to rise, the Controller stepped forward.

Without a word, he raised his hand.

Light gathered.

A message appeared.

Sent from Stroug.

The King read it in silence, his expression hardening with each passing word.

“King… there is a powerful being on Earth. A being beyond our power. A being that we don’t want to arise again. No one can stand before him. But what truly terrifies me… are his eyes. Those eyes… they make me tremble. They remind me of someone… someone so powerful that I almost kneeled before them.”

The message ended.

But its weight remained.

The King did not speak.

He did not move.

Only his grip tightened on the throne beneath him.

And for the first time—

Even the ruler of demons and monsters… began to think carefully about Earth.
