The First Attack on the Mansion

Scene 1 — A Night Too Quiet

The Kurogane mansion was silent.

Too silent.

Aika sat on the edge of her futon, still in her white kimono, her silver eyes fixed on the moonlit garden outside. The air felt heavy, as if the night itself was holding its breath.

She sensed it again.

A presence.

A shift.

A watcher.

Her fingers brushed the hidden blade at her thigh.

> “They’re getting closer.”

A soft knock sounded at her door.

“Aika,” Ren’s voice murmured, low and steady. “It’s me.”

She slid the door open.

Ren stood there, dressed in black, his expression calm but his eyes sharp.

“They’re inside the grounds,” he said.

Aika nodded once.

“I know.”

Scene 2 — Two Shadows, One Enemy

They moved through the hallway together—silent, controlled, perfectly in sync despite never having fought side by side before.

Ren glanced at her.

“You’re not afraid?”

Aika shot him a cool look.

“Are you?”

Ren smirked.

“Not with you here.”

Her heart did that irritating skip again.

They reached the end of the corridor.

A faint sound echoed from the courtyard—soft footsteps, too light to be a clan member.

Aika whispered:

“Three intruders. One on the roof. Two near the garden.”

Ren raised an eyebrow.

“You sensed all that?”

Aika didn’t answer.

She didn’t need to.

---

Scene 3 — The First Strike

A shadow dropped from the roof, landing silently behind them.

Aika reacted instantly—she stepped forward, blocking Ren with her arm.

Ren blinked.

“You’re protecting me?”

Aika didn’t look back.

“Don’t get in my way.”

The intruder lunged.

Aika moved like moonlight—swift, precise, untouchable.

She didn’t strike to kill; she simply disarmed, twisted, and sent the attacker crashing to the floor with a single fluid motion.

Ren whistled softly.

“Shirogane… remind me never to make you angry.”

Aika ignored him.

“There are two more.”

Scene 4 — Nightfang Awakens

The remaining intruders burst from the garden, masked and fast.

Aika stepped forward, but Ren placed a hand on her shoulder.

“My turn.”

His voice dropped—calm, cold, dangerous.

Nightfang.

Ren moved with a predator’s grace, intercepting the attackers with effortless precision.

He didn’t need weapons.

His presence alone was overwhelming.

Aika watched, surprised despite herself.

He wasn’t just a mafia boss.

He was a force.

Within moments, the attackers were subdued—alive, but defeated.

Ren dusted off his hands.

“Not bad for a first night as a married couple.”

Aika crossed her arms.

“You were sloppy.”

Ren laughed quietly.

“And you’re beautiful when you’re annoyed.”

Aika froze, cheeks warming.

“Don’t say things like that.”

“Why not?” Ren stepped closer, his voice softening. “It’s true.”

Aika looked away, heart pounding.

Scene 5 — A Message in the Dark

Before they could speak again, one of the intruders coughed and pulled something from his sleeve—a small black card.

Ren snatched it.

Aika leaned in.

On the card was a single symbol:

A crescent moon crossed by a blade.

Aika’s eyes widened.

“…Tsukishiro.”

Ren’s expression darkened.

“Your own organization sent assassins after you?”

Aika’s voice was barely a whisper.

“No. They weren’t after me.”

Ren looked at her sharply.

“They were after us.”

Aika met his gaze—silver and dark, fear and resolve.

For the first time, she said his name without hesitation.

“Ren… this marriage has started a war.”

Ren stepped closer, placing a hand gently on her cheek.

“Then we’ll face it together.”

Aika didn’t pull away.

Outside, the wind howled through the garden.

Inside, two shadows stood united for the first time.

Nightfang and Shirogane.

The Fang and the Silver Ghost.

And their enemies had just made their first move.
