Scene 1 — The Aftermath of the Attack
Morning light filtered through the shoji screens, soft and warm, but the atmosphere in the Kurogane mansion was anything but peaceful.
Aika stood in the courtyard, her silver eyes narrowed as she examined the footprints left behind by the intruders.
Ren watched her from a few steps away, arms crossed, expression unreadable.
“You’re up early,” he said.
Aika didn’t look at him.
“I never sleep deeply.”
Ren smirked. “I noticed.”
She ignored the comment, crouching to inspect a broken twig.
“These weren’t ordinary assassins,” she murmured. “They moved like trained operatives.”
Ren stepped closer.
“Tsukishiro?”
Aika shook her head.
“No. Someone mimicking them.”
Ren’s eyes darkened.
“So someone wants us to think your organization betrayed you.”
Aika finally looked at him.
“Or someone wants you to doubt me.”
Ren held her gaze.
“I don’t.”
Aika blinked, surprised by how easily he said it.
“You should,” she whispered.
Ren stepped even closer, lowering his voice.
“I trust you more than anyone in this mansion.”
Her heart tightened in her chest.

Scene 2 — The Council’s Disapproval
Later that morning, Ren called a meeting with his top executives.
Aika stood beside him, silent but alert.
The room fell into uneasy whispers.
“Why is she here?”
“She’s Tsukishiro…”
“Can we trust her?”
Ren’s voice cut through the noise like a blade.
“She is my wife. And she stays.”
Aika didn’t flinch, but she felt the weight of every stare.
One of the older executives stepped forward.
“Boss, with all due respect… last night’s attack happened because of her.”
Aika’s eyes sharpened.
Ren’s expression turned cold.
“Last night’s attack happened because someone wants to break this alliance. And if any of you think you can speak against my wife again—”
His voice dropped, dangerous and quiet.
“—you’ll answer to me.”
Silence.
No one dared breathe.
Aika glanced at him, a flicker of something warm in her eyes.

Scene 3 — Forced Partnership
After the meeting, Ren led Aika to his private office.
“We’re going out,” he said.
Aika raised an eyebrow. “Where?”
“To find whoever sent those intruders.”
Aika crossed her arms.
“You’re taking me with you?”
Ren leaned against his desk, smirking.
“You’re the best assassin in Japan. I’d be stupid not to.”
Aika looked away, cheeks warming slightly.
“…Fine.”
Ren stepped closer, lowering his voice.
“And besides… I work better with you.”
Aika’s heart skipped.
“Don’t say things like that.”
“Why not?” Ren teased. “It’s true.”
She glared at him, but her ears were turning pink.

Scene 4 — The Streets of Tokyo
They moved through the city like two shadows—Ren in his black coat, Aika in a sleek, dark kimono that allowed for movement.
People stared as they passed.
A mafia king and a mysterious beauty.
A dangerous pair.
Aika spoke quietly.
“You walk too loudly.”
Ren chuckled. “And you walk like a ghost.”
“That’s the point.”
He glanced at her.
“You know… you don’t have to hide everything from me.”
Aika’s steps faltered for a moment.
“I’m not hiding.”
“You are,” Ren said softly. “But I’ll wait until you’re ready.”
Aika looked away, her chest tightening.
Why was he like this?
Why was he making it harder to keep her walls up?

Scene 5 — The Trap
They reached an abandoned warehouse near the harbor.
Aika stopped immediately.
“Ren,” she whispered, “this place is wrong.”
Ren nodded. “I know.”
A faint click echoed.
Aika grabbed Ren’s wrist and pulled him back just as a metal shutter slammed down behind them, sealing the exit.
Voices echoed from the shadows.
“Well, well… Nightfang and Shirogane. The underworld’s newest power couple.”
Aika’s grip tightened on Ren’s arm.
“Ren,” she murmured, “this is a trap.”
Ren smirked.
“I know.”
Aika glared at him.
“Then why did you walk in so casually?”
“Because,” Ren said, stepping in front of her, “I knew you’d protect me.”
Aika’s cheeks flushed with irritation.
“You’re impossible.”
“And you’re beautiful when you’re annoyed.”
Before she could respond, figures emerged from the darkness.
A dozen of them.
Aika and Ren stood back‑to‑back, perfectly aligned.
Ren whispered:
“Ready, Shirogane?”
Aika drew her blade, eyes gleaming.
“Always, Nightfang.”
And together, they faced the enemy—
not as strangers,
not as forced partners,
but as two shadows bound by fate.
