Chapter 2 The Man Everyone Feared

By noon, Hanseong University had completely lost its mind.

Every hallway buzzed with gossip about Jeon Jungkook’s arrival. Students crowded around their phones, exchanging rumors with dramatic expressions while pretending they were not obsessed with the university’s newest guest lecturer.

“I heard he became a CEO at twenty-four.”

“No, apparently he bought an entire company because the owner insulted him.”

“My cousin works at JK Group,” another student whispered nervously. “She said employees are scared to breathe around him.”

Kim Taehyung listened to the rumors while lying dramatically across one of the benches outside the Fine Arts building.

“Wow,” he sighed. “He sounds deeply exhausting.”

Park Jimin nodded seriously while sipping iced coffee. “Emotionally constipated.”

Cha Eun-Woo nearly choked beside them.

“You two are going to get expelled one day,” Eun-Woo muttered calmly.

Sunoo grinned. “Worth it.”

Taehyung sat up slowly, eyes sparkling with curiosity. “Actually… now I really want to annoy him.”

“Absolutely not,” Eun-Woo replied immediately.

“Why not?”

“Because people who look like that are dangerous.”

Taehyung blinked innocently. “Dangerous?”

“Yes.”

“Emotionally or physically?”

“Both.”

Jimin dramatically placed a hand over his chest. “I support this love story already.”

“It’s not a love story,” Taehyung scoffed.

“Yet,” Sunoo added.

Before Taehyung could throw his iced coffee at them, everyone’s phones buzzed simultaneously.

A new university notification appeared.

Mandatory Guest Seminar – Entrepreneurship and Leadership

Speaker: Jeon Jungkook

Attendance Required for Final-Year Students

The entire courtyard exploded into chaos.

Taehyung slowly smiled.

“Oh,” he murmured softly. “This is going to be fun.”

By afternoon, the university auditorium was overflowing with students.

Some were excited.

Some were nervous.

Kim Taehyung was unfortunately both.

He walked inside with Jimin beside him dramatically complaining the entire way.

“If this man starts talking about discipline for two hours, I’m suing.”

“You don’t even wake up before noon,” Taehyung pointed out.

“That’s because society oppresses artists.”

Eun-Woo quietly walked ahead of them holding notebooks while pretending he did not know either of them.

The auditorium lights dimmed slightly.

Then Jeon Jungkook stepped onto the stage.

The room instantly fell silent.

Taehyung hated how powerful that silence felt.

Dressed entirely in black, Jungkook stood calmly near the podium, adjusting the microphone once before speaking.

“Good afternoon.”

Even his voice sounded expensive.

Jimin leaned toward Taehyung slowly. “If rich people were a person.”

Taehyung nodded absentmindedly while staring at the stage.

Jungkook began speaking about leadership, responsibility, company ethics, and ambition with calm confidence. Every word sounded precise and carefully controlled.

Too controlled.

Taehyung grew restless after twenty minutes.

After thirty minutes, he started doodling random sketches in his notebook.

After forty minutes—

He raised his hand.

Jimin immediately grabbed his sleeve. “No.”

Eun-Woo looked genuinely concerned. “Please behave for once.”

Unfortunately, Jungkook had already noticed him.

“Yes?” Jungkook asked calmly.

Taehyung leaned back comfortably in his seat. “You keep talking about control like it’s the most important thing in life.”

“It is important.”

“But people aren’t machines,” Taehyung replied casually. “Sometimes chaos creates better things.”

The auditorium became painfully quiet.

Nobody usually challenged people like Jeon Jungkook.

But Taehyung looked completely relaxed.

Jungkook studied him silently for a moment.

“And sometimes chaos destroys everything,” he replied evenly.

Taehyung smiled slowly.

“Maybe,” he admitted. “But silence destroys people too.”

For the first time since arriving at Hanseong University—

Jeon Jungkook paused.

Something unreadable flickered briefly across his expression before disappearing completely.

Interesting.

Very interesting.

Near the auditorium entrance, Principal Kim Namjoon stood beside Kim Seokjin while quietly observing the interaction.

“They’re definitely going to become a problem,” Seokjin whispered with amusement.

Namjoon sighed tiredly. “I know.”

Meanwhile, backstage, Jung Hoseok quietly handed Jungkook another file.

“You look distracted,” Hoseok said carefully.

“I’m not distracted.”

Hoseok glanced toward Taehyung laughing with Jimin in the audience.

Then back toward Jungkook.

“…Right.”

After the seminar ended, students immediately crowded around Jungkook with questions.

Taehyung remained seated lazily in his chair until Jungkook’s gaze unexpectedly landed on him again.

For a brief moment—

Neither looked away.

And somehow, without understanding why, both felt it.

The strange beginning of something dangerous.

Something neither of them was prepared for.
