After being taken to the hospital, Lela received quick treatment. The injury on her leg was not serious, but it was still painful. Sele remained beside her the entire time, watching her with concern.
“You’ll be okay,” he said gently.
Lela looked at him shyly before lowering her eyes.
For the first time since meeting him, her heart was beating in a strange new way.
After the treatment was finished, Sele stood up.
“Wait here. Let me go pay the bill.”
Lela nodded softly.
But the moment Sele walked away toward the payment desk, many thoughts filled her mind.
If Asha finds out I was in that place… she’ll hate me.
Filled with fear, Lela slowly got up and quietly left the hospital before anyone noticed.
A few minutes later, Sele returned.
But the bed was empty.
He froze in surprise.
“Where’s the girl?” he asked while looking around.
No one answered him.
Sele walked through the corridors searching for her, but she was nowhere to be seen.
He finally stopped and sighed quietly to himself.
“I didn’t even ask her name…”
Meanwhile, Lela was slowly running home despite the pain in her leg.
When she arrived near their house, she saw Asha pacing outside anxiously.
Asha’s eyes were red as if she had been crying.
Fear immediately filled Lela’s heart. She knew her sister would be angry.
“Dada…” she called softly.
The moment Asha turned and saw her, her eyes widened in shock.
She quickly ran toward her and hugged her tightly.
“Lela! Where were you?” Asha asked with a trembling voice. “You scared me so much. Please don’t ever do this again.”
Lela remained silent, feeling guilty inside.
“Do you know you’re my whole world?” Asha continued while holding her shoulders. “Don’t make my heart stop from fear like this.”
Suddenly, Asha noticed the injury on Lela’s leg.
“What happened to your leg?”
Lela became nervous for a moment but quickly forced herself to stay calm.
“I was studying with my friends for our final exams,” she lied. “While coming home, I slipped and fell.”
Asha looked at her with sympathy.
“I’m sorry, my love. Come inside and take a shower so you can rest.”
Lela felt pain in her heart for lying to her sister.
That same night, Sele returned home while still thinking about Lela.
When he entered the living room, he found his mother sitting together with three beautifully dressed young women.
Sele stopped in confusion.
“Mom… who are they?”
His mother smiled proudly.
“My son, I chose them for you. Pick one and marry her. Their families are rich just like ours.”
The girls smiled shyly.
But Sele’s expression quickly changed.
“Mom, I don’t want anyone choosing a woman for me,” he said seriously. “You know very well what I went through in the past.”
His mother sighed deeply.
“The past is gone, Sele. Even I don’t want to remember it anymore. That’s why I want you to marry and move on.”
Sele shook his head firmly.
“If I ever marry, it will be by my own choice. Not because I’m being forced.”
At that moment, his younger sister Zai walked into the living room wearing tight and revealing clothes.
Sele immediately frowned.
“Zai! I told you not to wear clothes like that.”
Zai rolled her eyes.
“Oh come on, brother… this is modern fashion.”
“Go back inside and change right now,” Sele said strictly. “If you don’t, you’re not leaving this house.”
Then he turned toward the girls.
“And you can leave too. I don’t want to see this again.”
The girls stood up awkwardly and left.
His mother stared at him with slight frustration.
“Sele…”
“Please let this be the last time you try to choose a woman for me,” he said before walking away toward his room.
Zai entered her room angrily and threw herself onto the bed.
“We live in a huge mansion, with cars and servants everywhere… but I have no freedom,” she cried bitterly. “I’m tired of people controlling my life.”
Meanwhile, at Asha’s house—
Lela quietly ate her food, but all her thoughts were focused on Sele.
She remembered how he carried her in his arms and gently placed her inside the car.
Without realizing it, she found herself smiling.
Asha, who was sitting nearby, noticed immediately.
“Lela… what are you thinking about?”
Lela quickly snapped out of her thoughts.
“Nothing, sister… nothing at all.”
That same night, Sele lay in his bed unable to sleep.
Every time he closed his eyes, he remembered Asha— her voice, her eyes… even the slap she gave him.
He kept turning from side to side in bed while smiling quietly in the darkness.
For the first time in many years, his heart was beginning to feel something he had locked away for a very long time…
