Episode 2

Five years later.

" Milady! Milady!...", the servant cried, panting. " Wait for me, milady. Don't run..."

" Papa! Papa!" Vohn cried excitedly and hugged her father. " You're back! You're back!"

He lifts his daughter and kisses her cheek.

" Greetings, my lord", the servant greeted him and bowed.

" Why are you running, Vohn?" her father asked and kissed her forehead. " Is there something wrong?"

" No, Papa, I have some good news!" she exclaimed. " I learned how to bake a cake. Nanny and I made a cake for you."

" Really?" he said, surprised. " Oh, I'm so proud. Who thought you?"

" It was Nanny, Nanny taught me, Papa", she said cheerfully.

"Yes, my lord, I thought her ", the nanny said proudly. " She really is a fast learner, my lord; she already knew the procedures by observing in just a few minutes."

" Oh, what an excellent surprise, my daughter is brilliant ", he said cheerfully to his daughter.

"Do you want to taste it, papa?" she said excitedly.

"Of course, my dear", he said stimulatedly. He put down his daughter and Vohn hold his hand.

" Come with me, papa" she happily escorts her father to the table. "Please, have a sit and relax."

She claps twice, a servant with trolly of came in and one of the maid pour a tea to his cup. He relaxingly sighed by the soothing smell of the tea.

" Here you go papa", she said and serve the cake. He pick up the dessert spoon and sliced the cake. He was astonished and delighted by the taste of the cake, and enjoy eating it.

" Hmmmm...", he greatly pleased and sips his cup of tea.

" How does it taste, papa?" she said happily, her eyes are sparkling. " Is it delicious?"

"Yeah, so delicate! ", he said proudly with a teary eyes. "I love the flavor of the cake!"

"Hehehe", she chuckled.

"I'm happy that you love it, papa", she said gratefully with a delightful smile. " I will make another cake for you again, papa."

"Oh really? Your really are so sweet, Vohn", he said proudly and fond to his daughter. "I'm the luckiest papa in the world!"

One day later, in the middle of the night Vohn was walking at the hallway and saw her father's room lit up. She peek at the door and saw her him packing his luggage.

" What are you doing, papa?" she asked. " May I help you?" she approached to her father.

"Oh, Vohn, you're still awake", he said while folding his clothes. " Vohn, I have something to tell you."

"Yes, papa. What is it?" she said immediately.

" Vohn, I'm going to travel overseas and I will leave tomorrow morning so I'm going to tell you that you must behave while I'm gone, OK?" he said gently. "Take good care of your health and be obedient, ok? Can you do that for me Vohn?"

" Papa, don't worry I've always been. But, are you going already? Why so soon?" she said sadly.

"When will you come back? Can I come with you?" she said sadly.

"I'm so sorry, Vohn. I can't allow you to come with me", he said. "You have to stay here and take care of the house while I'm away. You have to study and grow up healthy until becoming your age."

She lower her head with a gloomy face. Her dad puts his hand on her head and caress. He smiled.

"I'm gonna miss you again", Vohn mumbled. "Will you comeback early?" she cried.

"Of course, I won't take long, I will comeback after the investment is done", he said and bend his knees. " I also gonna miss you too, Vohn, but I have no choice."

"When will you comeback, papa?", she cried. "How long will you stay there?"

" Well (sigh), maybe, I will come back after two years. Can you wait for papa, Vohn?" he said worriedly and hold her hands. Vohn became quiet and suddenly a tears drops from her eyes, sobbing.

"Vohn?... (sigh) Hey, come 'ere!", he hugged his daughter and he caressed her head.

" Papa, why you should have to go? I'm gonna miss you again, papa", she cried at loud. He wipe her tears and let her calm.

"Don't worry, Vohn. I promise I will bring some gift for you when I come back, a'right? I'll make sure that you'll love it, Vohn.", he said gently while patting her head. "Just no more tears. Where is the happy face of my daughter? Did you put in your pocket or in my jacket?" he said and tickles her.

She laughs, "--it's tickles. Ok... ok, I understand", she wiped her tears.

"There you go, my happy daughter! Good girl", he pats his daughter's head. "Can you help me pack all my things?" he smiled.

"Of course, papa", she said with a smile. She picks up the book and a few stuffs then, put it into the luggage.

In his thought, "I wish you will be happy and I hope you will become a great lady like your mother ", he look at his daughter and smiling while arranging all the stuffs. Vohn lift the luggage and lose her balance and fall down.

" Oh! be careful Vohn. Are you ok?" he concerned. " Are you hurt?"

" No, I'm fine, papa. Don't worry ", she said and stood up. " I'm always ok if I'm with papa, so no worries about me ", she smiled. He smiled too, and relieved.

He looks at the picture of his wife on his desk, and said in his thought, " Look at your daughter, Ella, she really is like you. If you're here, maybe she will be more happier than this time and she will never feel alone", he smiled looking back towards his daughter while she's busy arranging the books in the luggage.
