The Lost Soul (Chapter-3)
Chapter Three
The Letter Never Sent
Winter arrived early that year.
Snow buried the streets.
The city turned white and silent.
Then Seraphine stopped coming.
Days passed.
Then weeks.
No messages.
No explanations.
Elias searched everywhere.
The riverside.
The café where she drank bitter tea.
The cathedral ruins.
Nothing.
Until one night, the old café owner handed him an envelope.
“She left this for you.”
His hands trembled as he opened it.
Inside was a letter written in fading ink.
Elias,
If you are reading this, then fate has already stolen me from your reach.
I wanted to stay.
God, I wanted to stay.
But some souls are born already broken, already temporary.
You once asked me why I smiled even when I looked sad.
It’s because loving you was the only beautiful thing my life ever gave me.
Do not search for me.
You will only lose yourself too.
And if souls truly meet again after death…
find me beneath the blossom tree.
— Seraphine
Elias read the letter until the ink blurred beneath tears.
Outside, snow continued falling endlessly.
As if heaven itself mourned with him.
