Scene 1 — A Quiet Morning After the Storm
The episode opens with the soft sound of rain tapping against the shrine roof. Haruto wakes up early, staring at the ceiling. Ayumi’s confession from yesterday still lingers in his mind — not because he’s confused, but because he’s worried about Miyuri.

“Wait… isn’t that Minase and Kanzaki? They’re always together.”

“They’re childhood friends. Duh.”
Souta nods dramatically.
Souta:
“They’re basically siblings.”
Haruto and Miyuri both choke on their food.
The students shrug and leave.

“That was close.”
Haruto sighs in relief. Miyuri giggles softly — the first real smile he’s seen from her today.

“If Ayumi hadn’t said you reminded her of her brother… would you have still rejected her?”
Haruto freezes.
Haruto:
“Miyuri… what are you saying?”
Miyuri:
“I just… I want to know.”
Haruto steps closer, frustrated but gentle.
Haruto:
“I rejected her because I’m married to you.”
Miyuri looks down.
Miyuri:
“But no one knows that. You could’ve said yes and no one would blame you.”
Haruto’s voice rises slightly — not in anger, but in hurt.
Haruto:
“Why would I want anyone else?”
Miyuri flinches.
Miyuri:
“I’m sorry… I didn’t mean—”
Haruto:
“I know you’re insecure. But don’t doubt me like that. Not about this.”
Miyuri’s eyes fill with tears.
Miyuri:
“I’m sorry… I just… I was scared.”
Haruto’s expression softens instantly. He steps forward and gently wipes her tears with his sleeve.
Haruto:
“I’m scared too. But we’re in this together.”
She nods, leaning into his hand.

Later, they sit on the shrine steps, watching the lanterns flicker.
Miyuri rests her head on Haruto’s shoulder — a rare moment of boldness from her.

“Thank you… for choosing me.”
Haruto blushes but doesn’t pull away.
Haruto:
“I’ll choose you every time.”
She smiles softly.
Miyuri:
“Then… I’ll trust you more.”
Haruto gently takes her hand.
Haruto:
“And I’ll be more honest with you.”
The camera pans upward to the glowing fox statues, petals drifting around them.
The shrine seems to whisper:
“Their bond strengthens.”
