Episode 5: The Words You Never Told Me...

🌆 Scene 1 – Team Dinner

A month had passed since Hye-yoon learned Su-ho's secret.

Life had somehow returned to normal.

At least on the surface.

Inside, however, everything had changed.

The team had successfully won another major case, and the firm decided to celebrate with a dinner.

A private restaurant in Seoul was reserved for the entire legal team.

The atmosphere was completely different from the office.

People laughed.

Joked.

Shared stories.

Even the strict senior attorneys seemed relaxed.

For once, no one was talking about court cases.

At the center of it all sat Kim Hye-yoon.

Across from her sat Su-ho.

Every now and then their eyes met.

Neither looked away immediately anymore.

And that made things even more dangerous.

🍷 Scene 2 – Too Much to Drink

As the evening continued, glasses were constantly refilled.

Normally Hye-yoon wasn't someone who drank much.

Tonight was different.

She had worked nonstop for weeks.

The pressure was exhausting.

And somewhere deep down...

her feelings for Su-ho were becoming impossible to ignore.

Kang Min noticed.

"Hye-yoon, maybe slow down a little."

She laughed.

"I'm fine."

"You said that three drinks ago."

The table burst into laughter.

Even Su-ho smiled slightly.

But he noticed something else.

She looked tired.

Not physically.

Emotionally.

Like she was carrying thoughts she couldn't share.

🌙 Scene 3 – Going Home

Two hours later, almost everyone was drunk.

One attorney had fallen asleep at the table.

Another was singing loudly.

Kang Min was unsuccessfully trying to stop him.

Meanwhile—

Hye-yoon attempted to stand.

Bad idea.

The room immediately spun.

She stumbled.

Before she could fall—

A hand caught her.

Su-ho.

Their eyes met.

For a moment neither spoke.

Then Su-ho looked toward the others.

"I'll take her home."

Nobody objected.

Most of them were barely capable of objecting anyway.

🚗 Scene 4 – The Drive

Rain began falling softly as they drove through Seoul.

Streetlights reflected across the wet roads.

Hye-yoon leaned her head against the window.

Half asleep.

Half awake.

The city lights blurred together.

For several minutes there was silence.

Then suddenly—

"Why do you always appear when I need help?"

Su-ho glanced at her.

She sounded serious despite being drunk.

He didn't answer.

Because he honestly didn't know.

🏠 Scene 5 – Her Home

They arrived at her apartment building.

Helping her out of the car was already difficult.

Helping her walk upstairs was even harder.

When they finally reached her door, Su-ho sighed.

"Hye-yoon."

No response.

"What is your password?"

She blinked slowly.

"Hmm?"

"The door password."

"Oh."

She stared at the keypad.

Then forgot what she was doing.

Su-ho tried again.

"Hye-yoon."

A long pause.

Then she quietly said:

"Five... seven... eight... four... zero."

The door unlocked.

🌑 Scene 6 – The Bedroom

The apartment was silent.

Su-ho carefully guided her to her room.

He pulled back the blankets and helped her lie down.

For a moment he simply stood there.

Watching.

She looked peaceful.

Much different from the confident lawyer everyone knew.

This version of Hye-yoon was softer.

More vulnerable.

More real.

Su-ho turned to leave.

Then suddenly—

Something grabbed his tie.

He froze.

Looking down.

Hye-yoon was holding it.

❤️ Scene 7 – The Question

She slowly pulled him closer.

Not forcefully.

Just enough that he couldn't ignore her.

Their faces were only inches apart.

Her eyes searched his.

"Why do you care?"

The question caught him completely off guard.

For the first time—

The powerful demon who had lived for centuries had no answer.

Because he had been asking himself the exact same thing.

Why did he care?

Why did her smile matter?

Why did seeing her hurt make him angry?

Why did losing her terrify him?

He genuinely didn't know.

And that frightened him more than any enemy ever had.

🌧️ Scene 8 – The Truth He Can't Say

Hye-yoon continued looking at him.

Waiting.

But he remained silent.

Because he wasn't ready to say the words.

Not yet.

Not when he still didn't understand them himself.

For centuries he had watched humans fall in love.

He had never imagined it could happen to him.

Especially not now.

Especially not with her.

💖 Scene 9 – A Different Kind of Promise

She moved slightly closer.

Trying to close the distance between them.

But Su-ho gently stopped her.

Not because he didn't want to.

Because he wanted to too much.

His voice was low.

Soft.

Dangerously honest.

"The day I stop stopping myself..."

He paused.

Looking directly into her eyes.

"...will be the day I know exactly what you mean to me."

Hye-yoon stared at him.

The room became silent.

Only the sound of rain outside remained.

For a moment neither moved.

Neither looked away.

🌙 Scene 10 – Goodnight

Then Su-ho leaned forward.

Very carefully.

Very gently.

And kissed her forehead.

A simple gesture.

Yet somehow it meant more than anything else could have.

Hye-yoon's eyes slowly closed.

A small smile appeared on her face.

Within moments she fell asleep.

Still holding his tie loosely.

Su-ho carefully removed her hand.

Pulled the blanket over her shoulders.

And stood.

🌑 Final Scene

Outside her apartment building, rain continued falling.

Su-ho stood alone beneath the night sky.

For the first time in centuries...

he felt lost.

His hand touched the spot where she had grabbed his tie.

His thoughts returned to her question.

"Why do you care?"

He looked up toward the clouds.

And quietly whispered:

"I wish I knew."

But deep down—

he already did.

He simply wasn't ready to admit it.
