Pretend nothing happens

Shanel: "You’re happy, aren’t you, with my misfortune?"

Ayumi: "Why would I be happy about that? I got to be your maid of honour — isn’t that something to be cheerful about?"

Shanel: "You didn’t defend or support me back then."

Ayumi: "Oh, stop it, Shanel. Maybe Simon is a good person and will bring happiness into your life. I just want to see you happy, my friend."

Shanel shot her a dead glare through the phone.

Ayumi : "You know what, let’s just forget about all this. What if, while courting, he loses interest in you?"

Shanel: "You wish."

Ayumi: "Anything is possible. You just need to give him a reason to hate you."

Shanel, lost in thought, nodded.

Shanel: "You know what? Yes, you’re right. I’ll do that."

Ayumi: "Yes, do. Now can we please hang up so I can eat the food your mom prepared? Just so you know, I packed it — 'cause baby, I’m too lazy to cook at home."

Shanel rolls her eyes.

                      At night

Shanel was introduced to MLBB by Ayumi five months ago. At first, she was like, “OK, let’s play together.” But now, after playing consistently for five months — seven times a week, one hour a day — she’s addicted.

Her rank is Master, and although she’s never played with any hero other than the cute character named Nana, she’s still far from a pro with her.

“Hmm,” she sighed.

“Why do I always end up with this kind of team?” she complained.

A message appeared on her phone: “Go play Ludo, Nana.”

But she ignored it.

Finally, after 1 kill, 9 deaths, and 5 assists — and still managing to win — she was satisfied with her game and went to sleep, completely forgetting about her meeting with Simon and the engagement plans.

Before sleeping, she took a screenshot of her best game out of the five rounds and posted it on her status with the caption:

“Haha, such an easy match.”

At midnight she received a message “ Hi” from an unknown number

Shanel usually never replies to an unknown number but with this one she feels no harm in replying but upon closer inspection to the profile picture of whoever this person is she ignores it and the number went to her black list.

She went to a different message and replies to that

It was a message from Ayumi “ Hey want to go to a thrift shop? I found this place and trust me they sell so many second books at a low cost and all are first copy.”

Shanel like shopping so she agreed to the message right away.

“What are you wearing?” She asked Ayumi

“Jeans and simple T shirt” Ayumi answers

“ Ok 1 hour on Lilies convenience store”

“Got it, don’t be late”

After one hour of straightening her hair, wearing grey jeans and a simple loose T shirt Shanel heads out to Lilies Convenience store.

But before heading out she spots a thick war and peace novel which she had burrowed from the nearest library opposite Lilies Convenience store and plans to return it on the way as she had completed the book through which she was taking some ideas for her next novel.

There was this group of guys parkouring on the streets and stops whatever they were doing upon seeing  her walking on the streets one of the guys opened his mouth and sings Baby, darling tell me the words I want to hear so I can hear it.”

She ignores the rotten song and walks past the guys as fast as she can.

She spots Ayumi through the windows of  Lilies Convenience store eating instant ramen noodles.

She went inside. She giggled with the thick novel she hit her hard on the head

Ayumi turns and Shanel froze Wait a second the hair is the same, body is the same .The t-shirt is the same which she wore last month on our way to the park but why is the eyes, nose and mouth so different?

The fake Ayumi glares at her and curse

Shanel was brought back to reality by the curse

"Oh my god, I am so sorry I thought you were my friend."

The fake Ayumi only showed her the scariest face she can ever imagine

“What should I do?” She nearly cries

she apologizes again and again until the real  Ayumi calls her from the door.

"Hey what are you doing there? Let’s go."

She thanks Ayumi inwardly for getting her out of the awkward position

She apologize again and ran out.

"That Simon of yours, seems like he’s a famous person among kids and adults."

"Girl what are you saying" Shanel scowl in surprised

"I searched for a discography channel on my cable Tv yesterday and guess what the first show that I saw is Simon fighting with a crocodile"

"Why on earth would someone fight a crocodile that didn’t even do anything?" Shanel said, clearly irritated and surprised.

"No, you’re not getting it. The crocodile got lost and ended up in a nearby village called Ululu, where it started attacking the villagers. Simon tried to tranquilize the 15-foot crocodile with his bare hands. After the crocodile was examined for any health issues, Simon finally pushed it back into the river."

Ayumi gave her an explanation.

Shanel doesn’t know what to say to that she’s imagining how the heck she will end up marrying a guy who loves adventure and handling crocodiles and stuff.

"Anyway forget it" continues Ayumi "you see this friend of mine she showed me the location of a new thrift store, where first copies branded dress, bags and  books are stored we’re going to love it, although the place is in a secluded area where makeshift houses are built."

"Really? Do you have an informant for these things?" Shanel asked in surprise.

“Yes, an informant regarding this stuff.” Ayumi wink “ You should feel blessed that you have a friend like me,”

"I should be blessed that you’re so ready to be my maid in honour." She rolls her eyes

"You don’t want me to be your maid in honour." Ayumi yells "Who is it who’ll take my place?"

"Can you please be quiet? People can hear you from miles away. Why don’t you grab a megaphone and continue the conversation with me?"

Shanel quieted her down.

"Hahaha so funny." Ayumi rolled her eyes
