📖 Chapter 1: Why Is It Always Me?

Suksa International University (SIU), Bangkok 🇹🇭

Morning — 7:30 AM

The sun was already burning hot over Bangkok, reflecting off the glass buildings of Suksa International University.

Students rushed through the wide campus roads, motorbikes honking outside the gates, coffee shops already crowded.

Everything looked normal.

Peaceful.

“Are you serious right now?”

A security guard nervously said:

“Sir… maybe try again?”

Pond took a deep breath.

Then screamed internally.

“THIS IS WHY I DON’T BELIEVE IN PEACEFUL MORNINGS.”

A loud laugh echoed from behind him.

“BROOOO— you didn’t even survive 5 minutes this time!”

Pond turned slowly.

William was standing there—hands in pockets, grinning like he was watching a comedy show.

Pond deadpanned:

William walked closer, laughing harder.

“Even the universe has personal beef with you at this point.”

William nodded seriously.

“Yes. It looks expensive.”

“And ruined.”

Pond sighed:

“I hate today.”

William wrapped an arm around his shoulder.

Both started walking inside campus.

William tripped on a loose tile.

Pond tried to grab him.

Both fell slightly forward.

Coffee spilled again.

Phuwin walked through the medical faculty corridor.

“…What just happened?”

William shouted:

“BRO YOU GOT SAVED BY A MED STUDENT?!”

Est looked at them calmly:

“You’re blocking the walkway.”

Phuwin immediately released his grip.

“Be careful.”

No emotion.

No extra words.

He walked away with Est like nothing happened.

😳 POND’S SHOCK

Pond stood frozen.

Still staring.

William waved his hand in front of his face:

“Earth to Pond?”

Pond slowly said:

“…That never happens.”

William:

“What? Not dying?”

Pond:

“Something going right.”

He looked at Phuwin’s back disappearing into the crowd.

For the first time—

No disaster followed him.

William smirked:

“Bro… why are you smiling like that?”

Pond quickly denied:

“I’m not.”

Pause.

Then softly:

“…Who is he?”

Somewhere on campus.

A student posts on gossip page:

“Who is the medical student who stopped Pond Naravit’s bad luck moment?”

And in another corner of campus—

Phuwin calmly opens his book.

Est:

“You helped him.”

Phuwin:

“It was nothing.”

But something had already changed.
