📖 Chapter 2: “Wait… Where Did He Go?”
The incident from yesterday didn’t leave Pond Naravit’s mind.
Not even a little.
Which was… extremely unusual.
Because normally, Pond forgot things easily—like assignments, meetings, birthdays, and sometimes even where he parked his own car.
But this?
A perfectly normal-looking medical student…
Who somehow stopped his bad luck for exactly 3.2 seconds?
That stayed.
🌤 Morning — University Campus
Pond arrived at the university gate again.
This time, he was extra careful.
Checked the floor twice
Avoided puddles
Walked slowly
Even looked at the sky suspiciously
William walked beside him, yawning loudly.
“Bro, why are you walking like the ground is your enemy?”
Pond narrowed his eyes.
“It is.”
William blinked.
“Fair.”
They entered campus.
And nothing happened.
No spills.
No accidents.
No chaos.
Pond stopped walking.
Slowly looked around.
“…This is suspicious.”
William frowned.
“What is?”
Pond whispered:
“Too peaceful.”
And immediately—
A bird flew overhead.
Dropped something.
Right onto William’s shoulder.
William froze.
Looked down.
Looked up.
Then screamed:
“OKAY NOPE. CURSE IS BACK. IT MISSED YOU AND HIT ME INSTEAD?!”
Pond nodded seriously.
“It’s spreading.”
😂 CAMPUS GOSSIP ENERGY
As they walked toward the building, students were already whispering.
“Isn’t that Pond Naravit?”
“The rich one who is always unlucky?”
“I saw his coffee explode yesterday.”
“Why is he famous for suffering?”
Pond heard everything.
He sighed deeply.
“I should get paid for this.”
William laughed:
“You already are. It’s called trauma.”
🏥 MEDICAL FACULTY BUILDING
Across campus.
Peaceful.
Controlled.
Silent.
Phuwin Tangsakyuen stood near the corridor window, reading notes.
Est leaned beside him, scrolling on his phone.
Everything looked calm.
Too calm.
Est spoke first:
“You became a trending topic.”
Phuwin didn’t look up.
“About what?”
Est:
“Some engineering student’s bad luck.”
Phuwin paused slightly.
“Not my concern.”
Est added:
“Apparently you ‘stopped it.’”
That made Phuwin finally look up.
“I didn’t do anything.”
Est nodded.
“Exactly.”
Phuwin went back to reading.
But for a brief second…
He remembered.
The boy who was about to fall.
The chaos in his eyes.
The ridiculous panic.
And the strange silence after he grabbed him.
He frowned slightly.
Then returned to normal expression.
“Coincidence.”
Est smirked faintly.
“Sure.”
🎓 LECTURE BUILDING — ENGINEERING SIDE
Pond sat in class completely distracted.
William was doodling something chaotic in his notebook.
Pond suddenly raised his hand.
Teacher:
“Yes?”
Pond:
“Can I ask something unrelated to the lecture?”
Teacher:
“No.”
Pond immediately sat back down.
William laughed quietly.
“You tried.”
Pond ignored him.
His eyes were fixed on his phone.
He opened campus gossip page again.
Post still there.
“Who is the medical student who stopped Pond Naravit’s bad luck moment?”
Comments:
“He’s cursed fr 💀”
“I saw him fall once in cafeteria too”
“That med student must be an angel”
“We need more updates”
Pond muttered:
“I need answers.”
William looked at him:
“About your life or your dignity?”
Pond stood up suddenly.
William blinked.
“Where are you going?”
Pond:
“Medical building.”
William immediately stood up too.
“No. Absolutely not. Last time you followed curiosity, we ended up banned from karaoke night.”
Pond didn’t listen.
“I need to find him.”
William sighed dramatically.
“Great. The curse is now romantic curiosity.”
🏥 MEDICAL BUILDING — AGAIN
Phuwin was leaving class.
Est walking beside him.
Students respectfully greeting them as they passed.
Everything calm.
Until—
A loud voice broke the silence.
“YOU!”
Everyone turned.
Phuwin paused.
Est slowly looked forward.
Pond was standing at the end of the hallway.
Breathing slightly fast.
William behind him whispering:
“Bro this is how horror movies start.”
Pond pointed directly at Phuwin.
“You.”
Phuwin blinked once.
“Me?”
Pond walked closer.
Then stopped.
Suddenly unsure.
Because now that he was closer…
He realized something.
This guy was seriously calm.
Too calm.
Like nothing in the world could shake him.
Pond lowered his hand slightly.
“…You were there yesterday.”
Phuwin:
“I am here today too.”
Est quietly said:
“That’s how time works.”
William muttered:
“Savage.”
Pond ignored them.
He stepped forward again.
“Yesterday… when I was about to fall.”
Phuwin remembered immediately.
“Yes.”
Pond narrowed his eyes.
“Why didn’t I fall?”
Phuwin stared at him.
A second passed.
“Because I stopped you.”
Simple answer.
No emotion.
No pride.
Just fact.
Pond froze.
That was not the answer he expected.
He blinked.
“…You just… stopped me?”
Phuwin nodded once.
“Yes.”
Silence.
William whispered:
“Bro he answered like a textbook.”
Est:
“Because it is one.”
Pond suddenly felt weird.
Not bad weird.
Just… confused weird.
Because normally his life didn’t get saved.
It got worse.
Pond pointed again:
“Why?”
Phuwin finally looked slightly annoyed.
“Because you were about to fall.”
Pond:
“That’s it?”
Phuwin:
“Yes.”
Pond stared.
Then slowly:
“…That’s it?”
Phuwin:
“Do you want a ceremony?”
Est added:
“Or a medal?”
William almost choked laughing.
Pond ignored him.
But his eyes didn’t leave Phuwin.
Something about this guy…
Was annoying.
Not because he was rude.
But because he was completely unaffected.
Like Pond’s chaos didn’t matter at all.
Pond suddenly said:
“What’s your name?”
Phuwin paused.
Looked at him properly for the first time.
Then answered:
“Phuwin.”
Pond repeated quietly:
“Phuwin…”
A small silence followed.
Then—
A student accidentally dropped a tray behind them.
Loud crash.
Pond instinctively flinched.
Phuwin didn’t even react.
Est didn’t even look back.
William sighed:
“Yeah… I see the difference in universe settings.”
Pond suddenly stepped back.
“Okay.”
Phuwin:
“Okay?”
Pond nodded.
“I’ll see you again.”
Phuwin blinked.
“Why?”
Pond:
“I don’t know yet.”
Then he turned around and walked away.
William quickly followed:
“BRO WHAT WAS THAT?!”
Pond didn’t answer.
He only said one thing quietly:
“…Weird.”
Phuwin stood still for a moment.
Est looked at him.
“He’s strange.”
Phuwin:
“Yes.”
Est:
“He will come again.”
Phuwin paused slightly.
Then calmly:
“Probably.”
Elsewhere, walking back across campus…
William yelled:
“YOU WENT THERE JUST TO SAY ‘OKAY’?!”
Pond finally answered:
“No.”
William:
“Then what?!”
Pond looked ahead.
“…I don’t know yet.”
And for the first time…
Pond Naravit didn’t feel unlucky.
Just curious.
