Chapter 6 – The Person Who Shouldn't Have Returned

The Design Department was busy as usual. Everyone was focused on their work when the HR manager clapped to get everyone's attention.

"Everyone please welcome our new designer. Starting today he will be working with our team."

The office door slowly opened.

A tall young man walked inside with a gentle smile.

"My name is Lu Han. Nice to meet everyone."

Shao Yu looked up and froze.

"Lu Han?"

Lu Han's eyes widened.

"xiao Yu."

Without another thought he walked over and hugged him tightly.

"I can't believe it's really you."

xiao Yu smiled.

"I thought you moved away forever."

"So did I. Looks like fate had other plans."

The entire office watched them with surprise.

One of the designers whispered.

"You two know each other?"

Lu Han laughed.

"We grew up together."

Inside the CEO's office Sheng Feng watched everything through the glass wall.

His expression didn't change but his eyes became colder.

His secretary quietly spoke.

"Sir the new designer is Mr. xiao Yu's childhood friend."

Sheng Feng didn't answer.

His fingers slowly tightened around the file in his hand.

Lunch Break

Lu Han sat across from xiao Yu with a tray full of food.

"Do you remember our school cafeteria?"

xiao Yu laughed.

"You were always stealing my lunch."

Lu Han shook his head.

"It was my lunch. You were the thief."

Both of them laughed.

Lu Han reached across the table and stole a French fry from Xiao Yu's plate.

"You still haven't changed."

"You haven't changed either."

Their laughter filled the cafeteria.

Just then Sheng Feng walked inside.

His footsteps stopped the moment he saw them.

Lu Han noticed a little sauce near Shao Yu's lips.

Without thinking he picked up a tissue and gently wiped it away.

"You really don't know how to eat properly."

Sheng Feng's face instantly darkened.

"Cancel today's board meeting."

The secretary looked shocked.

"Sir?"

"I said cancel it."

He walked straight toward their table.

The noisy cafeteria suddenly became silent.

"Xiao Yu."

Xiao Yu immediately stood up.

"Yes Sir."

"My office. Now."

Lu Han slowly stood as well.

"It is lunch break."

Sheng Feng looked at him with cold eyes.

"You are new here."

"I am."

"Then learn your limits."

Lu Han smiled without fear.

"My oldest friend is not a limit."

Sheng Feng stepped closer and grabbed Shao Yu's wrist.

"Come with me."

Before Xiao Yu could move, Lu Han gently held his other wrist.

"For one minute."

Both men looked directly at each other.

Sheng Feng spoke in a calm but dangerous voice.

"Inside this company xiao Yu belongs to my team."

Lu Han didn't back away.

"And outside this company he belongs with the people who truly care about him."

Sheng Feng's eyes grew colder.

"Once something catches my attention I don't like sharing it."

Without another word he pulled Xiao Yu toward his office.

Lu Han watched them disappear behind the corridor.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"The real game has finally begun."
