As James grew older, the pattern continued. He would cry
uncontrollably whenever he fell or got hurt, and his parents would rush to comfort him with
medication. They thought it was just his sensitive nature, but in reality, something
extraordinary was at play. Unbeknownst to Doctor William and Lisa, the crystal Doctor
William mixed accidentally in the herbs had emitted a unique energy signature that
resonated with James' developing cells in the womb. This energy had altered his DNA,
making him more receptive to pain and heightening his sensitivity.
James joined an elementary school where Ms. Lisa works , his reactions to pain became
more frequent and intense. A minor scrape on the playground would send a wave of
excitement mixed with nervousness to wash over him. Unbeknownst to James, every snack
and drink his mom packed was laced with painkillers, a precaution due to his severe
allergies. Throughout the day, Ms. Lisa discreetly ensured James took his medication every
hour, despite his protests. At lunchtime, James' face lit up when he saw his favorite meal
and juice box, both carefully prepared by his mom. He devoured them eagerly, oblivious to
the tiny pills hidden within. As the day unfolded, James discovered new friends and a place
where his mom's love and caution intertwined seamlessly, making his school days
unforgettable. Despite this peculiarity, James grew into a bright and curious child, bringing
immense joy to his family. They loved him dearly, and their happiness was complete. But as
James' life unfolded, the effects of the crystal's mutation would reveal themselves in
unexpected ways, leading to a future filled with wonder and discovery.
As Lisa and James where in a car going back home James turned to Lisa with a curious
expression. "Mom, can I ask you something?" James asked, his eyes sparkling with
excitement. Lisa turned to him with a smile. "Of course, sweetie! What's on your mind?”
James thought for a moment before asking, "What do you think I love most in the world?"
Lisa chuckled, "Hmmmhmm, that's a tough one! I think you love playing video games and a
sandwich. Am I right?" James shook his head, a mischievous glint
in his eye. "Nope! That's not it." Lisa curiosity was piqued. "Okay, then what is it? Tell me!"
James face lit up with enthusiasm. "I love everything of long ago!" Lisa eyebrows shot up in
surprise. "That’s the History? Really? What is it about history that you love so much?”
James thought for a moment, his brow furrowed in concentration. "I don't know... I just find
it really interesting. I love learning about ancient civilizations and how people lived a long
time ago." Lisa smiled, pleased with his response. "That's great! I'm glad you're interested in
learning about the past."
James’ pain reduced due to the daily painkillers he takes and his love for the research only
grew stronger whenever they went to different museums and as he completed his
elementary and high school education. He was eager to further his knowledge and pursue
a career in the field, so he enrolled in college.
It was a tropical Monday morning, as James stepped out of the car to the college grounds
he was nervous but excited. "Hey, sweetie, now that you're going off to college, we wanted
to talk to you about something important," Lisa said, her voice gentle but serious. James
nodded, knowing what was coming. His parents had always been open with him, and he
appreciated their honesty. "We want to remind you to be mindful of the friends you make,"
Doctor William chimed in. "You'll meet people from all walks of life, and that's great. But
make sure you surround yourself with people who share your values and goals. Remember
to take painkillers incase of any sign of pain." James nodded, taking in their words. He knew
his secret relied heavily on painkiller tablets to get through his day. He had developed a
tolerance for them over the years when his parents had grown accustomed to his hourly
doses. Even his lunch was packed with painkillers, a constant reminder of his dependence
so they just wanted what was best for him. "Got it, dad. I'll be careful." Lisa put a hand on
his shoulder. "And don't be afraid to say no if you're uncomfortable with something. Your
education and well- being are what matter most." James nodded, feeling a surge of
gratitude towards his parents. They had always been there for him, offering guidance and
support. As they hugged him tight, James knew he was ready for this new chapter in his life.
He would make good choices, and his parents would always be there to support him, no
matter what. “I will come pick you in the evening after classes” Lisa said. “Its’ ok” James
replied
In the lecture hall students chatting and laughing as they settled into their seats. But then,
the door opened and a new student walked in. Mrs. Johnson, the teacher, smiled warmly
and welcomed James. "Class, please welcome our new student James Williams." James
looked a bit nervous as he scanned the room, his eyes adjusting to the new surroundings.
He was dressed in a crisp white shirt and dark jeans, his backpack slung over his shoulder.
As he made his way to the empty seat at the back of the room, the class fell silent, sizing
him up. But then, something unexpected happened. The class president, stood up and
walked over to James. "Hey, I'm Martina Glebbins Martha. Welcome to our class! We're
glad to have you here." James smiled, looking relieved, and shook her hand. "Thanks, I'm
James Williams. Nice to meet you.” “you can sit there with him.”
Martha directed him near a fat boy and went back to her seat. "Hi, I'm James Williams," he
said, trying to sound confident. "Can I sit with you." The boy looked up, startled, and James
noticed a flash of fear in his eyes. But then, a smile spread across his face. "H-hi James. I'm
Carly David. Welcome to our class, its ok." James sat down, trying to put David at ease.
"Thanks! I'm glad to be here. Hey, are you okay? You seem a bit scared." David’s smile
faltered for a moment, but then he nodded. "Y-yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit anxious around new
people, that's all." James understood. He was feeling a bit nervous himself. "Oh, I get it. I'm
a bit nervous too. New school and all. But I'm sure we'll get along great." As they started
studying together, James discovered they had a lot in common. Both loved music, reading,
and exploring new places. James was impressed by David’s talent for drawing. Before long,
they were chatting like old friends. James learned that David was shy, but once you got to
know him, he was kind, funny, and loyal. And David found James to be adventurous,
confident, and supportive. As the bell rang, signaling the end of the period, James grinned
at David. "Hey, want to sit together at lunch?" David’s face lit up. "Y-yeah, that would be
awesome!" Together, James and David explored the campus, darting from classroom to
playground, soaking in the new surroundings. From that moment on, James and David were
inseparable. They sat together at lunch everyday, partnered up for projects. James was glad
he had found a friend like David, and David was thankful to have overcome his fears to
connect with someone new.
Unbeknownst to James that David was being teased by some bullies after class and they
didn't relent to their friendship. One day during lunch time, David walked out of class,
dreading the usual taunts from the bullies. And sure enough, they were waiting for him.
"Hey, fatty!" one of the bullies jeered. "What's for lunch? A whole pizza by yourself?" David
tried to ignore them, but they just kept coming. "Yeah, David, you're so fat, you need your
own zip code!" Just as David thought he couldn't take it anymore, a voice cut through the
taunts. "Hey, leave him alone!" It was James. The bullies turned on James with angry faces.
"Mind your own business, newbie!" But James stood his ground. "I am minding my own
business. I'm standing up for my friend." The bullies snickered. "Friend? You mean fatty
here?" James smiled. "Yeah, I mean David. And he's a great guy. So back off." The bullies
looked at each other, then back at James and David. For a moment, David thought they
might back down. But then, they started laughing. "You think you can protect him, newbie?
You're just a scrawny little kid!" James didn't flinch. "I don't need to protect him. He can
take care of himself. But I'm not going to let you guys push him around." The bullies took a
step closer, but James stood firm. David felt a surge of gratitude towards his friend. one of
the bullies pushed him down and got bruised on the hand Just then, the class president,
Martha appeared. "What's going on here?" “lets see if she will save you tomorrow,” The
bullies said and then left. "Thanks, James that was a bold move," David said, his voice
shaking. “Are you ok!!? ” David and Martha said to James. He looks at them and got out
