Two weeks after returning from the trip to Kulaczen, Anfelisa finally completed her graduation.
A new chapter of her life was about to begin.
For the first time in years, she no longer had to worry about assignments, exams, or rushing to class every morning.
She had spent so much of her life as a student that the sudden freedom felt a little strange.
Anfelisa decided to take a short break.
She wanted to rest for a few days before starting her search for a job.
The following day, she spent most of her time at home.
After lunch, she went upstairs to her room and lay down on her bed.
She had planned to rest for only a little while.
But within minutes, she slowly drifted into a deep sleep.
And then...
The dream began.
Anfelisa was standing inside her room.
Everything looked exactly as it should.
Her bed.
Her table.
Her window.
Nothing seemed unusual.
Yet something felt different.
She couldn't explain it.
Her eyes slowly moved toward the table.
There it was.
The ring.
The mysterious ring she had found in her clothes after returning from Kulaczen.
Anfelisa stared at it.
For some reason, she felt drawn toward it.
She slowly walked closer.
She didn't know why she wanted to pick it up.
She simply felt as though she had no choice.
Anfelisa reached for the ring.
Then, slowly, she placed it on her finger.
The moment it touched her skin—
FLASH!
A powerful light suddenly burst from the ring.
Anfelisa stepped back in shock.
"What?!"
The ring began glowing with a bright, strange light.
She immediately tried to pull it off.
But it wouldn't move.
"What's happening?"
She tried again.
Nothing.
The light became brighter.
Brighter...
And brighter...
Then—
Everything disappeared.
Anfelisa opened her eyes.
She was no longer in her room.
A cold wind brushed against her face.
She looked around.
Her heart began beating faster.
She knew this place.
The mountain.
The same mountain she had visited during the university trip.
But something was different.
Very different.
The forest was darker than she remembered.
Much darker.
The trees were enormous, their branches stretching across the sky and blocking most of the light.
There was no sound of students laughing.
No voices.
No birds.
No sign of people anywhere.
Only the cold wind moving through the trees.
Anfelisa stood completely still.
"Where am I?"
Her voice disappeared into the silence.
She slowly began walking forward.
Her hands trembled slightly.
Every step took her deeper into the forest.
She tried to remain calm.
But the deeper she went, the more frightened she became.
Then suddenly—
CRACK!
The ground beneath her feet broke.
"Ahhh!"
Anfelisa fell.
She closed her eyes and prepared herself for the impact.
But it never came.
Her body stopped.
She was floating.
Anfelisa slowly opened her eyes.
"What...?"
She looked down.
She was suspended above a deep groove in the ground.
But there was something strange about it.
The groove was glowing.
A soft white light filled its depths.
Thin black lines crossed through the glowing surface, forming an intricate pattern.
Anfelisa stared at it.
The design looked strangely familiar.
It reminded her of the complicated circuits found inside a computer motherboard.
She couldn't understand what she was looking at.
"What is this place?"
She slowly moved closer.
Then she stopped.
Something had changed.
Anfelisa felt it.
Someone was nearby.
Her heart began pounding.
She slowly turned around.
A figure stood in the darkness.
Someone was walking toward her.
Step...
Step...
Step...
Anfelisa couldn't move.
The figure continued coming closer.
The white light from the glowing groove slowly reached the girl's face.
Anfelisa's eyes widened.
She couldn't believe what she was seeing.
The girl standing before her...
Looked exactly like her.
The same face.
The same eyes.
The same hair.
Everything.
Anfelisa took a step backward.
"Who are you?"
The girl didn't answer.
Anfelisa stared at her.
"Why do you look like me?"
Silence.
"Where are you from?"
Still nothing.
"Do you know me?"
The mysterious girl continued to look at her.
Anfelisa's fear slowly changed into confusion.
There was something strange about this girl.
Something that felt familiar.
And yet...
Something about her also felt completely different.
Anfelisa took a cautious step forward.
"Please..."
Her voice became softer.
"Tell me who you are."
To be continued...
