THE DNA TEST BEGINS

The question lingered in Alexander's mind long after he left Maya's house.

Could Noah and Daisy really be my children?

He had tried to dismiss the thought as wishful thinking. Yet the more he remembered the twins' faces, the more impossible it became to ignore.

The resemblance was undeniable.

---

The next morning, Alexander arrived at Kingston Holdings before anyone else.

His private investigator, Daniel Brooks, was already waiting in his office.

"Have you found anything?" Alexander asked.

Daniel placed a thick folder on the desk.

"I've spent the entire night looking into Maya Johnson's past. She left the city exactly five years ago, just weeks after you were involved in that car accident."

Alexander nodded. He remembered waking up in the hospital after the accident. Maya had vanished before he recovered, leaving only a short note.

Daniel continued, "There are almost no records of her life during those five years. It's as if she disappeared."

Alexander looked out the window.

"She wasn't hiding from the world."

He clenched his fists.

"She was hiding from someone."

---

At the same time, Maya was helping Noah and Daisy get ready for school.

Noah adjusted his little backpack.

"Mummy, will you come to the school play next week?"

"I wouldn't miss it for the world," Maya replied with a smile.

Daisy hugged her tightly.

"Promise?"

"I promise."

As she watched the twins board the school bus, Maya felt a strange sense of unease.

She couldn't explain it.

But she felt as though someone was watching them.

Across the street, a black sedan remained parked with tinted windows.

Inside, Sophia Hart lowered her binoculars.

"So these are the children," she murmured.

She smiled coldly.

"They're even more like Alexander than I expected."

---

Later that afternoon, Alexander received a call from Daniel.

"Sir, I have an idea."

"I'm listening."

"If we can't access the old hospital records, we can settle this another way."

Alexander's expression hardened.

"A DNA test."

Daniel nodded.

"It only takes a strand of hair."

Alexander remained silent for several seconds.

Finally, he spoke.

"Do it."

"But make sure Maya doesn't know."

---

That evening, Alexander attended a charity event hosted by Kingston Holdings.

To his surprise, Maya arrived with Noah and Daisy, who had been invited to perform with their school's choir.

The children looked adorable in matching blue uniforms.

As the choir gathered backstage, Noah accidentally bumped into Alexander again.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Alexander!"

Alexander smiled and gently patted his head.

"No harm done."

As Noah hurried back to his classmates, a single strand of hair caught on the sleeve of Alexander's jacket.

Daniel, standing nearby, noticed it immediately.

He carefully removed the strand and slipped it into a small evidence bag.

No one else saw.

Except...

Sophia.

From across the room, she watched everything.

Her smile disappeared.

"They're doing a DNA test," she whispered.

"If that test proves the truth..."

Her eyes filled with panic.

"I'll lose everything."

She pulled out her phone and dialed a number.

"I have a job for you," she said quietly.

"I need you to steal a DNA sample before it reaches the laboratory."

As the choir began to sing, neither Maya nor Alexander realized that someone was already plotting to stop the truth from ever being revealed.
