Episode 2 — The Girl Who Knew Her Name

The next morning, Pari woke up in a small room.

For a few seconds, she simply stared at the ceiling.

Then she remembered the same thing again.

Nothing.

She didn't know where she had come from.

She didn't know who her family was.

And she didn't know why the name Nina kept appearing in her mind.

Pari slowly sat up.

The kind woman who had found her the night before entered the room.

“You're awake.”

Pari looked at her.

“Where am I?”

“You're in my house. I found you on the road last night.”

Pari lowered her eyes.

“Thank you.”

The woman smiled.

“Do you remember anything now?”

Pari shook her head.

“Nothing.”

“Not even your name?”

Pari thought for a moment.

“Pari.”

“That is your name?”

“I think so.”

The woman gently smiled.

“Then we'll call you Pari until you remember everything.”

Pari nodded.

But something inside her felt strange.

She looked toward the window.

For some reason, she felt like someone was waiting for her.

Someone who knew her.

Someone she had forgotten.

Meanwhile, Nina was walking through the crowded streets of the human world.

Everything was unfamiliar.

People were rushing everywhere.

Cars moved faster than anything she had ever seen in Paristan.

Nina looked around helplessly.

“How am I supposed to find her in a world this big?”

Suddenly, the magical stone in her hand began to glow.

Nina stopped.

Her heart started beating faster.

“Pari.”

She followed the light.

It led her to a small street.

Then suddenly...

The light disappeared.

Nina looked around.

“Why did you stop?”

She closed her eyes and tried to feel Pari's magic.

There it was.

Very weak.

But it was there.

Nina smiled.

“She is close.”

Pari went outside that afternoon.

The city was still strange to her.

She walked slowly, looking at everything around her.

Suddenly, she heard a little girl crying.

Pari turned around.

A small girl was standing near a fountain.

Her toy had fallen into the water.

Without thinking, Pari reached toward it.

The toy suddenly moved.

It floated out of the water and landed directly in Pari's hands.

Pari froze.

The little girl stopped crying.

“Wow!”

Pari stared at the toy.

“How did I...?”

A tiny blue sparkle appeared around her fingers.

Pari quickly hid her hand.

She looked frightened.

“What is happening to me?”

She didn't know that someone was watching her.

Across the street, Nina stood completely still.

She had seen everything.

Her eyes filled with tears.

“That magic...”

She whispered,

“It's Pari's magic.”

Nina took one step forward.

But before she could reach her sister, she felt something dark.

Her smile disappeared.

A cold wind passed through the street.

Nina turned around.

A black shadow was standing on the rooftop.

It was watching Pari.

Nina's heart sank.

“They found her.”

She immediately moved toward Pari.

“Pari!”

Pari turned around.

The moment she saw Nina, she stopped.

Something strange happened.

Her heart suddenly started beating faster.

She didn't know this girl.

She had never seen her before.

At least, that was what her mind told her.

But her heart said something else.

Nina slowly came closer.

“Pari...”

Pari stared at her.

“How do you know my name?”

Nina's eyes filled with tears.

“Because I know you.”

“Who are you?”

Nina looked at her sister.

For one painful moment, she wanted to say everything.

I'm your sister.

You are a fairy.

You came from Paristan.

And I crossed worlds just to find you.

But then Nina noticed the dark shadow watching them.

She couldn't tell Pari the truth.

Not yet.

Nina forced a small smile.

“My name is Nina.”

Pari's eyes widened.

That name.

Again.

The same name from her dreams.

“Nina...”

She suddenly held her head.

A memory flashed before her eyes.

A magical forest.

A girl holding her hand.

A voice shouting her name.

“Pari!”

She gasped.

Nina immediately held her shoulders.

“Pari!”

Pari looked at her with tears in her eyes.

“Why does your name hurt?”

Nina couldn't answer.

Then the shadow on the rooftop moved.

Nina looked up.

Her face changed.

“Pari, come with me.”

“Why?”

“Because we don't have much time.”

“Who are you really?”

Nina looked into her sister's confused eyes.

“I promise I'll tell you everything.”

She grabbed Pari's hand.

“But first, I have to keep you alive.”

Behind them, the shadow slowly disappeared.

And somewhere in the darkness, a cold voice whispered,

“We found the fairy.”
