Episode 2-The Daughter’s Promise

The mansion was quiet that night. Only the sound of the rain tapping against the window filled the emptiness.

In her pink room, Jenifer sat near the window, hugging her favorite teddy bear. She had seen her mother that evening — from far away. Jeni wasn’t allowed to meet her, but Jenifer’s heart knew. She felt her mother’s presence, the same warmth she had been missing every night.

Jenifer (softly to her teddy):

“Daddy and Mommy love each other. I can see it. Then why are they sad? Why can’t they just say sorry?”

She looked toward the hallway. Through the half-open door, she saw her father standing near the fireplace, holding an old letter in his hand. His eyes were wet.

Jenifer (thinking):

“He cries when he reads that letter. That means he still loves her. I will do something… I’ll make them talk again.”

The Next Morning

Jezz was getting ready for work when Jenifer came running down the stairs, holding a drawing.

She had drawn a picture of three stick figures holding hands — a man, a woman, and a little girl.

Jenifer (smiling): “Daddy, see! It’s us — you, me, and Mommy!”

Jezz (trying to smile): “It’s beautiful, princess.”

Jenifer: “Can we give it to Mommy?”

Jezz froze.

Jezz: “Sweetheart, Mommy is… busy.”

Jenifer: “You mean Grandma doesn’t like her?”

Jezz looked away, speechless.

That afternoon, when Mrs. Adeline came to check on Jenifer, the little girl hid her drawing under the pillow. She didn’t trust her grandmother — not anymore. She had overheard too many whispers, too many cruel words.

Scene: Jezz’s Mansion – Nightfall

The rain had finally stopped, but the air still smelled of wet earth and secrets.

Jenifer lay on her bed, pretending to sleep. when all slept, she wakes up and went to his father's room.

The door was slightly open. On the table lay Jezz’s phone, glowing softly.

Jenifer whispered to her teddy,

“Teddy, Daddy won’t do it… so I’ll do it for him.”

She unlocked the phone — she had seen her father’s passcode a hundred times — her mother’s birthday.

Her little fingers typed a message:

“Can we meet once? At the villa near the garden. Please come.”

She pressed send — to Jeni.

Then she smiled, whispered, “Now Mommy will come,” and tiptoed back to her room, heart racing like a little secret agent.

Scene: Outside Jezz’s Private Villa – The Next Evening

Jeni arrived quietly, unsure why Jezz had suddenly called her after so long.

She wore a simple white dress — her eyes nervous but hopeful. The evening air was calm, and the soft sound of wind chimes greeted her as she stepped inside.

“Jezz?” she called softly.

No answer.

Then she saw her — Jenifer, standing near the piano, clutching her teddy bear and smiling.

Jenifer: “Mommy…”

Jeni froze. Her eyes filled with tears.

She ran forward and knelt down, hugging her tightly.

Jeni (shaking voice): “My baby… you’ve grown so much.”

Jenifer: “Daddy didn’t tell you to come. I did.”

Jeni pulled back, shocked.

Jeni: “You… you texted me?”

Jenifer (nodding proudly): “Yes. I used Daddy’s phone. You both still love each other, right?”

Jeni’s tears fell silently.

Jeni: “Sometimes love isn’t enough, sweetheart.”

Jenifer: “But you’re enough for him. I know.”

The words pierced Jeni’s heart.

Jenifer held her mother’s face and whispered,

“Please stay here. Just for tonight. For me.”

Jeni smiled weakly.

“Okay… just for you.”

Scene: The Same Night – Inside the Villa

Jenifer was fast asleep between them — her tiny hands holding both of theirs.

Jezz had just entered quietly, following a message he had received on Jeni’s phone —

“Come to the villa. We need to talk.”

He didn’t know that his daughter had sent that too.

When he saw Jeni, his breath stopped. She looked fragile, tired, but still as beautiful as the woman he once promised never to hurt.

Jezz (softly): “You messaged me?”

Jeni (confused): “I thought you messaged me.”

They both turned — Jenifer smiled in her sleep.

And in that moment, they understood everything.

Jezz sat beside Jeni, their fingers still held by their daughter.

Jezz (whispering): “She did what we couldn’t.”

Jeni (quietly): “She brought us home.”

For the first time in years, silence between them felt warm.

The storm outside had passed, but the storm inside their hearts had finally started to calm.

Jenifer woke up and smiled.

Jenifer: “See? I told you — love just needed a little help.”

Jezz and Jeni looked at each other — eyes filled with tears and unspoken promises.

Maybe it wasn’t a happy ending.

But it was a beginning again — born from the courage of a little girl’s love.
