that smile

I was brought back to the same old place, same old house.The house I spent my high school life. The house I thought I would never return again.

DESTINY, I thought.

It was early August I sat in the porch resting my whole body after a long trip. The backyard looked lifeless and frozen with bamboo giving dense effect of darkness.

The calm and gentle wind of this place brought back many many nostalgic memories ...... the memories which was long lost .....

*that autumn I met a girl........ the golden ring of sunset I could never forget....... in those memories ~ those unforgettable words spoken to me..... *

I stood up and went inside to pour myself a glass of cold water. I opened the fridge and took out the bottle of water. I wondered eyes and caught the glimpse....

At the said table I saw a photo - little to rough and tattered. The faces in the photo was blurry so was my memories but I saw it.... those round blue eyes, black hair.... A girl with pale skin.

*"if.......if possible we.... re.. ^& , I'll l*^^& for you"*

"ouch my head hurts what was that right now" I said.

"hmmm, now I should start unpacking this things"

i stretched my arms and get to work.

Mild-breeze came uninvited from the open backdoor with the soft music of fluttering petals and wind chimes.

"Almost done" I thought.

I went outside to the balcony.

"this smell" the smell of fresh slow air blowing. I closed my eyes.

*welcome home....haru*

I heard a voice. "Ha...ru...!!?" I thought......"haru" :my old nickname

I looked straight front at the sky- the carpet of orange and yellow sunset.

*ha..ru ,let's m^*& a^a*#* I heard the voice again.

"whose voice is this??" I thought "whose..who are you??" I asked myself.

*flashback**haru, ....(smiles).... promise me*

"That smile....

"......did I forget something important??" I said small tears rolling down my cheek.

........something very important.

I took a long breath.

"lets go out for a walk" I thought.

I looked the door behind and kept the keys in my pocket. As I was going someone called me

"If it's not haru??"

I turned back to see who it was.

An old woman smiled at him saying "you have grown much since the last time I saw you".

I did not speak a word.

"I am sorry about what happened to your grandparents they were such a good neighbour...."

"hmm" I said not making eye contact.

"if you need anything come ask me I live next door" she said and left. "I wish if Sato-chan would see how much you have grown " she mumbled as she was leaving.

"sa...to chan!!?" I whispered under my breath

"huh , whose voice is this??" I thought

Lost in my thoughts, I took a stroll in the town.That smiles ....I'll make sure I'll remember you.~~
