The officer remembered that day, and although he was indignant at the supposed crime that the young woman committed at the time, he didn't think about all the conjectures that Maximo had raised. Steven, who had remained silent, said;

Maximo just shook his head and said; Your Honor, I have evidence that proves that the young lady couldn't have been there when the victim had the accident.
The Judge just turned to look at him and called them both, and in a low voice said, what the hell do you think you're doing in my courtroom? This isn't a stage to put on a show, so you better do things right and handle it prudently. It seems I have someone locked up without there being anything conclusive and without evidence. Maximo looked at the officer and said that's all from my side, so that witness left.

Samantha nodded, and although her innocence hadn't been fully proven yet, she was content not to return to that place, since the first day she arrived, she was brutally beaten, so much so that she was in the prison infirmary for two weeks; until Gabriel found out what had happened when they didn't let him see her on the first visit he made, so he paid several guards of the place to take care of her.
Even so, Samantha was afraid to sleep and be attacked again.
