CHAPTER 1: THE PAST

Heyoooooooo people!!!! Author nana here, so the first chapter of this book would be set in modern time ok. And it will be mostly written as pov and some scenes ok. Hope y'all find it appealing.

{Chae y/n who had a life of unparalleled luxury and privilege, was blessed with every advantage it could offer, who'd never known hardship and desperation, accustomed to a world where weakness was invisible. Where the struggles of others were merely a distant hum. Where she felt protected and was safe, suffered the first ever heartbreak in her life when she got the news of her parents divorce, reason being her mother's infidelity, it felt like the whole world collapsed. She always thought that her parents were madly in love and nothing could separate them, only death was the permanent solution which could ever come in between them but y/n didn't know that it would take the face of a younger man who was much younger in age in comparison to her mother and would rend the fabric of her reality, leaving an abyss that could never be filled, and an important place in her heart that can never be replaced, the place of her mother. She thought that her mother was really crazy about her father, but she never knew she would be so wrong. Her mother masked everything so well that she didn't even doubt the relationship between her mother and the student that she cheated with, she thought that it was nothing more than a patient and doctor, that it was just something professional. She always dreamed of becoming a doctor like her mother, but it was shattered so cruelly by her own mother. And the reason she had this affair in the first place was that her mother thought... No, not thought but knew that y/n's father was too boring and couldn't satisfy her, and this was what caused her to even look at another man and demand the attention she had always craved. But that wasn't all, y/n was sad that her parents were separating but what really shattered her heart in a million pieces was that her mother didn't even wanna see y/n's face after the divorce, cause she said that she had always hated y/n and that she was nothing more than a burden. She wanted nothing to do with them going forward and that she was gonna move and settle down somewhere far away from them, never to see their faces again. Her mother let her father take sole custody of her, it was not like y/n hated her father. She loved the man more than anything cause he was a really hardworking, honest and kind man who always left anything and everything for his family no matter how important. But she didn't want to be the only kid in her class who didn't have a mother, she didn't want to feel the emptiness of a mother. So she begged, she begged her mother not to leave or to break any contact with her. But her mother being, the ruthless person she was, mercilessly left and never ever contacted them. This all happened when y/n was just 6 years old. After this incident everything changed, her father stopped coming home and started staying out late every night and left every task of y/n to her middle aged nanny. She became quiet and stopped interacting with the world cause she wasn't ready to face reality, reality that her mother had left and that she will never see her again, the truth, that her father will never be the same. But it healed little by little when she befriended a transfer student at the age of 8. He was the equivalent to the emotion, that reminded, her of joy. He changed everything that made her sad and replaced them with memories that saved her from pain, he healed the wounds that were given to her by her mother and made her the happy version of herself that she had forgotten, he protected her from everything and everyone. This was her best friend, her companion, her partner-in-crime, Park seojoon. He was just like the sun always bringing light in y/n's dark world. They became inseparable from the moment they met. They could always be seen together, where seojoon was present there was y/n and vice versa. She started to finally feel content, happy that she didn't end her life as living led to her finding such a great person she can call a friend but it all came crumbling down when her father started coming home early and with a new woman clinging to him every week, who was always after her dad's money and would disappear after they had their fill. This wasn't what broke her, her father coming to home early was like a dream come true to y/n, but it soon turned into a nightmare because whenever the women her father brought would leave, he would always get into bed with her and would hug her imagining her as his lovers, which led to her hating men and rejecting any boy who would ever confess to her, and seojoon being the best friend he was would always support her decision and she knew she could always rely on him, y/n thought that she could also share the fact that she was infact attracted to girls more when compared to boys but she didn't want to lose her friend just yet. But alas this was also a fantasy cause fate would always play a cruel joke with y/n, just when she thought that she also had the right to become happy it was shattered, because when they turned 18, seojoon's parents proposed, to y/n's father that their kids get married which would be beneficial to both their kids and business and her father being in the state he was, agreed and welcomed them with open arms. When y/n asked seojoon about this matter, she thought that like her he also thought of her as a friend not more than that and was against them marrying each other, but it was a mistake because he confessed, tear-eyed that he had always been in love with her since the day they met in the park. He kept apologizing that he shouldn't have. [Oh I will write a scene acting out this part okie a Convo if you would like to call it that. 😉😉] ACTION 🎬🎬}

Y/n: joon, is this true? (After pulling him away from his group of 'guy' friends.)

Seojoon: is what true?? (While unwrapping a candy.)

Y/n: our parents want us to get married, and why am I hearing about this for the first time that you said yes when they asked you about this???

Seojoon: (while gulping) umm that, yea I- I agreed to it on my accord.

Y/n: why??? We are friends aren't we?

Seojoon: uhh that yeah.

Y/n: then why?? Didn't you say that you will always be my good friend, then why? You promised that you'll always stay with me then-

Seojoon: exactly y/n I promised that I would always stay by your side but not just as a friend. I wanna be more than a friend. Can't I even wish for that, don't I deserve to be happy too. I've always wanted to make you happy, I've always made you happy, I've fulfilled your every wish. Can't I wish for just this one thing too, just that you will always become mine as I want you to accept me as yours. {Meh 😑😑 sorry if this isn't emotional and suits your palate I just wanted to add a Convo in between so that your eyes can overcome the fatigue from the big ass POV.}

Y/n: I-

Seojoon: you what, y/n? Will I never get the chance to ever experience my first love, will I never get to take you out when you are so close yet you always push me so far?? Will I never get to call you my fiancee?? 🥺🥺🥺 (Y/n stays silent, as she's at a loss of words.) I see, 😭😭😔 I'm sorry, I'm sorry for, ever falling in love with you, for even thinking that maybe you like me too. I'm sorry but I tried real hard not to fall in love with you but I couldn't stop myself. I fell for you every time I looked at you, every time you smiled, you fell asleep, every yawn, every laugh, everything about you. But I really couldn't help it I'm sorry 😭😭😭😭 (while trying to wipe his tears away but they just keep pouring.) please forgive me for ever thinking that maybe you feel the same about me. Forget that this Conversation ever happened. I'll convince my parents and tell them to not go through with the preparations. I will- (gets hugged by, y/n) wha--

Y/n: just shut up!!! I'm sorry for making you feel that way. Sorry that you had to beat yourself up all these years because of me. I- I like you too.. (breaks the hug, wipes his tears away and pecks seojoon's cheek, whereas seojoon is dumbstruck with wide eyes, but snaps out of his daze when y/n chuckles looking at him. He hugs her tightly lifting her up from the ground, spinning around like he won the world.)

Seojoon: (puts her down) thank you, thank you so much ☺️☺️☺️💞💞 I- can I ki-

Y/n: you can. (Seojoon slowly closes the distance between them and kisses her, after a brief kiss, y/n pulls away making seojoon pout.) we are still in school.

Seojoon: (smiles angelically) I've always wanted to do that.

Y/n: me too. 😊

Seojoon: I love you. (Hugs her again, smiling)

Y/n: I- I love you too. (Smiles after they break the hug)

{But little did seojoon know the truth behind that smile. He had forever lost a person who he once called his best friend. Now y/n had became an empty shell of a person. She was just like a living corpse but she had to still keep up appearances because she was an obedient daughter, a good kid, a better friend, a great daughter-in-law, and now a wonderful wife. Their parents did not waste any time in delaying their marriage and proceeded with it as soon as both of them turned 22. She didn't protest and went with the flow of whatever they created, after their studies in which y/n did arts and seojoon was in line to takeover his father's business being the sole heir to their family's fortune, that led them to moving out of their parental homes to their own house just for the two of them, as y/n called it because she always felt out of place in that space seojoon called home 🏠 🏠 🏠. It wasn't overdue when y/n started sensing that seojoon started desiring her physically, the cuddles and embraces started turning more intimate, the kisses started lasting longer, the small touches here and there became more sensual and..... She hated it, she hated it with her whole existence, with every fiber in her body. She didn't view, seojoon that way she never had and she never will. To her he was nothing more than her best friend. But she had to give in to him before he got suspicious because she didn't want to break his heart for her own selfishness. He was always there for her, and he always will be. So she gave in to whatever that was seojoon wanted. She gave up her sanity for him [note just metaphorically not like she became insane ok] it disgusted her whenever they would lay together as one. Whenever he would touch her in her most intimate parts, it felt like thousands of bugs were crawling over her body, it was pure torture. She just wanted everything to end, she just wanted peace. But it was never that easy, in a world like this nothing was free and everything came at a price which y/n was well aware of. But another ray of light came when a bodyguard was assigned to her, a.............. Female bodyguard, Mi young. She was like a colourful rainbow on a rainy day [got the pun 😄😄😄😷😷, umm maybe not the right sentence to joke about.] Y/n had never met a person like her. She was just.... Out of this world, y/n could never describe her with words that was how mi-young made her feel. It wasn't long before y/n found out that she was really attracted to her new bodyguard and she had to keep this secret because she knew that whatever fantasies she had were nothing more than her wishful thinking, but she was surprised when Mi-young was the one who initiated to kiss her, which felt like her first kiss all over again. Y/n knew that she screwed up but what could she even do, she couldn't stop herself from falling in love because it was the first time she had ever felt what love was like, she couldn't help falling deeper in this nightmare that was dressed like a daydream. But she couldn't let seojoon get suspicious so she kept up the act of the perfect wife and would enjoy her time with her new lover whenever alone. She was so in love that she forgot what life had planned for her, but whatever it had in store was just ugly. She was just so excited and felt alive for the first time ever, but it was all snatched away from her with nothing more than a slap from her father........... When it all came tumbling down cause of y/n's luck, her rotten luck. It all happened because...........}
