"Here, we are safe. Here, we can talk freely," Ember said, looking straight at Silas. Her eyes were serious, but there was a hint of a smile on her face.
Silas looked around the room. It was small, but it felt cozy and safe. Books lined the walls, and strange tools sat on the shelves. It was clear that Ember spent a lot of time here. It was her world, hidden away from the System. He took a deep breath and tried to relax. He was still nervous, but he trusted Ember.
"What do you want with me?" Silas asked. "Why did you call me here?" He needed to know why she had chosen him.
Ember smiled slightly. "I've been watching you, Specter. I know what you can do. You're one of the best hackers in Berlin."
Silas frowned. "How do you know about that?" He didn't like the idea of being watched, even by someone like Ember. It reminded him too much of the System.
"I have my ways," Ember said, her eyes sparkling. "The System thinks it controls everything, but there are cracks. I see things they don't. I know about your skills, your secrets, and your past."
She walked over to a table and picked up a small device. It looked like a key, but it was made of metal he had never seen before. It was smooth and shiny, and it hummed softly in her hand. "This is a key," Ember said. "It can open doors that the System wants to keep closed. Doors to information, to freedom, to the truth."
Silas was interested now. "What kind of doors?" He leaned closer, wanting to know more.
"The System is hiding things," Ember said. "Big things. They're changing history, controlling people's minds, and taking away their freedom. They want everyone to believe their lies, but I know the truth. I want to stop them, but I can't do it alone."
She looked at Silas, her eyes full of hope. "I need your help, Specter. You have the skills to break into their systems, to find the truth, and to show it to the world. You can help me fight back."
Silas thought for a moment. He had always worked alone, hiding in the shadows. But he knew Ember was right. The System was getting stronger, and people were suffering. He had seen it with his own eyes. Maybe it was time to join the fight, to stand up for what was right.
"What do you need me to do?" Silas asked. He had made his decision.
Ember smiled. "First, we need to find out what they're planning. I have a lead, but it's dangerous. The System is watching a secret meeting tomorrow night. High-level people will be there, talking about their plans for the future."
"Where is this meeting?" Silas asked. He wanted all the details.
"At the old TV tower," Ember said. "The Fernsehturm. It's heavily guarded, but I have a way in. We need to get inside, listen to their plans, and get out without being seen. It's risky, but it's our best chance to find out what they're up to."
Silas nodded. It sounded risky, but he was ready. He trusted Ember, and he believed in her cause. "I'm in," he said.
Ember smiled, and Silas felt a surge of hope. Maybe, just maybe, they could make a difference. Maybe they could fight back against the System and bring freedom back to Berlin.
"Good," Ember said. "Then let's get to work."
She spread out a map of the Fernsehturm on the table. It was detailed and showed all the security cameras, guards, and access points. "We'll go over the plan," Ember said. "It's going to be a long night, but we'll be ready."
To be continued.
