Ember spread out the map of the Fernsehturm on the table. It was covered in lines and symbols, showing every detail of the tower's security. Silas looked at all the lines and felt a little nervous. "This is our target," Ember said, pointing to a room near the top of the tower. "That's where the meeting will be held."
Silas studied the map closely. The Fernsehturm was heavily guarded. There were cameras everywhere, watching every corner, and guards patrolling every floor, making sure no one got in without permission. It seemed almost impossible to get in without being seen. "How are we going to get past all this?" he asked, feeling a little doubtful.
Ember smiled, a confident smile that made Silas feel a little better. "I have a plan," she said. "We'll use the old service tunnels. They're not as well guarded as the main areas, and I know a secret entrance that no one else knows about."
She pointed to a small, unmarked tunnel on the map. It was hidden away, almost invisible. "This tunnel leads directly to the service elevator," she explained. "We can use it to get to the upper floors without being seen by the guards or the cameras."
"What about the cameras in the elevator?" Silas asked, still thinking about all the things that could go wrong. "They'll see us when we're inside."
"I have something for that," Ember said, reaching into her bag and pulling out a small, strange-looking device. It was smooth and black, with a few small buttons on the side. "This will block the cameras for a few minutes," she explained. "It should be enough time for us to get to the meeting room without being detected."
Silas nodded, feeling a little more hopeful. It still sounded risky, but it was their best chance. "What about the guards on the upper floors?" he asked. "How will we avoid them?"
"We'll have to be very careful," Ember said, her voice serious. "I know their patrol routes and schedules. We can avoid them if we're quiet, quick, and stick to the shadows."
She looked at Silas, her eyes meeting his. "Are you ready for this, Specter? It's going to be dangerous, and there's no turning back once we start."
Silas took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves. He was nervous, but he was also excited. He was finally doing something that mattered, something that could make a real difference. He thought about the people suffering under the System's control, and he knew he couldn't back down. "I'm ready," he said, his voice firm.
Ember smiled, a genuine smile this time. "Good," she said. "Then let's go. We don't have any time to waste."
They gathered their gear, checking to make sure they had everything they needed. Then, they headed out of the safe room, disappearing back into the dark tunnels beneath the city. They moved quickly and quietly, their footsteps echoing in the darkness. Soon, they reached the secret entrance to the Fernsehturm.
Ember used her special key to open the door. It was heavy and old, made of thick metal, and it creaked loudly as it swung open, making Silas jump. They stepped inside and found themselves in a dark, dusty tunnel. The air was thick with the smell of old dirt and forgotten things.
"This is it," Ember whispered, her voice barely audible. "Stay close to me, and be quiet. We don't want to attract any attention."
They moved slowly through the tunnel, their senses on high alert, listening for any sign of danger. The air was thick with dust, making it hard to see, and the only light came from their small flashlights, cutting through the darkness. After a few minutes of careful walking, they reached the service elevator.
Ember pulled out the camera-blocking device and activated it. A small light blinked on, and she quickly attached it to the elevator's control panel. "Okay, we have five minutes before the cameras come back online," she said, her voice urgent. "Let's go, quickly!"
They stepped into the elevator, and Ember pressed the button for the top floor. The elevator started to move, slowly and quietly, rising up through the tower. Silas held his breath, waiting for something to go wrong, his heart pounding in his chest.
But nothing happened. The elevator reached the top floor without any problems. The doors opened with a soft whoosh, and they stepped out into a dark hallway.
"We're here," Ember whispered, her eyes scanning the hallway. "Now, we just need to find the meeting room."
To be continued.
