I think instead of teaching you something like that she should mention the dangers and potential risks of unprotected sex rather than shit like "purity of a woman" so that you know the consequences and the prevention by getting intimate with someone. While it is the personal choice of one to get intimate or not but that does not mean you can ignore the potential emotional and physical problems you can face if you have multiple partners but In this case I think a parent should be a safe place to talk about stuff like this but her mother just slapped her ideology to her face so she couldn't gather the courage to talk to them sooner
