Blood Ties :When the Trust Breaks

Blood Ties :When the Trust Breaks

episode 1:Oath Beneath the Plum Blossoms

The winter wind howled through the mountains of the Liang Province, carrying with it the scent of snow and distant war.

Within the walls of the Yun Estate, lanterns flickered against the ancient stone, casting long shadows that seemed to move like restless spirits. Servants hurried through the courtyards in silence. No one dared to speak loudly tonight.

Because tonight, General Yun’s sons were to swear their blood oath.

Yun Jian was the elder—calm, disciplined, his swordsmanship already whispered about in military camps despite his young age. His movements were precise, his eyes sharp like the blade at his waist. He carried responsibility the way others carried fear.

Beside him stood Yun Kaito, two years younger, yet far more unpredictable. Where Jian was ice, Kaito was flame. His grin was easy, his laughter loud, but beneath it lived ambition that burned too bright to ignore.

Before them stood their father, General Yun Liang, a legend of the Northern Armies. His armor bore scratches from a hundred battles. His gaze carried both pride and warning.

“The empire fractures,” the General said, voice heavy as iron. “Rebels rise in the west. The Crown Prince grows suspicious of loyal families. In times like these, blood must protect blood.”

A servant stepped forward with a silver dagger and a porcelain bowl.

The plum trees in the courtyard were blooming despite the cold, their pale blossoms falling like silent witnesses.

Yun Jian knelt first. Without hesitation, he took the dagger and sliced his palm. Blood welled instantly, dark and steady. He did not flinch.

“For the honor of the Yun clan,” he said.

Yun Kaito followed, cutting his own hand. His smile did not fade, but his eyes held something unreadable.

“For power and survival,” he added softly.

Their blood dripped into the same bowl.

General Yun nodded once. “From this day forward, you stand together. Betrayal between brothers will not only destroy you—it will destroy this family.”

The wind rose sharply, scattering plum petals across the courtyard.

For a brief moment, Jian felt unease.

Kaito’s hand lingered over the bowl a second too long.

But then it was gone.

The brothers stood side by side as soldiers cheered, as lanterns burned brighter, as wine was poured in celebration.

No one saw the messenger riding hard toward the estate gates.

No one heard the whispered order given in the dark corridor behind the ancestral hall.

And no one noticed that the seal on the General’s military command had already been forged.

By dawn, the Yun Estate would no longer belong to the Yun clan.

And the oath sworn beneath plum blossoms would be the very thing that shattered.
