The figure's words hung in the air, its meaning sinking in. Emilia's eyes locked onto the figure, her mind reeling.
"You...you're supposed to be dead," she whispered.
The figure smiled, its eyes glinning with malevolence. "I'm very much alive, Emilia. And I'm here to claim what's mine."
Adrien's voice was firm. "What's going on here? Who are you?"
The figure laughed, the sound sending shivers down Emilia's spine. "I'm Emilia's brother, Detective. The one she thought was lost forever."
Emilia's eyes widened in shock. "J-Jason? But...but you're dead."
Jason's smile grew wider. "Not quite, sis. Just...out of the picture. For a while."
Lyra stepped forward, her voice calm. "What do you want, Jason?"
Jason's gaze locked onto Lyra. "Ah, Lyra. Always lurking in the shadows, aren't you?"
Lyra's expression was unreadable. "What does Emilia have that you want?"
Jason's smile grew wider. "Everything. She's always been the favorite, you know. The one who got all the attention, all the praise. But that's going to change. Now."
Adrien's gun was still trained on Jason. "We need to take this situation calmly, Jason. No one else needs to get hurt."
Jason laughed, the sound echoing through the clock tower. "Oh, I think it's a bit late for that, Detective. Emilia's fate is already sealed. And so is yours, Lyra."
The air grew thick with tension. Emilia's heart pounded. What was Jason planning? And what did he want from her?
As the silence stretched, Emilia's mind racing. She thought back to the day Jason disappeared, the day she thought he'd died. The guilt, the grief, the pain – it all came flooding back.
"Why, Jason?" Emilia asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "Why did you fake your death?"
Jason's smile faltered for a moment, a glimpse of pain flashing across his face. "You wouldn't understand, sis. You never did."
Lyra's voice was calm, but her eyes were narrowed. "Try us, Jason. What's going on?"
Jason's gaze locked onto Lyra, his eyes cold. "Fine. You'll find out soon enough. Emilia, come with me."
Emilia hesitated, her eyes locked onto Adrien's. He nodded, his expression grim. "We'll be right behind you, Emilia."
As Jason turned to leave, Emilia followed, her heart pounding in her chest. What was Jason planning? And what did he want from her?
The clock tower's shadows seemed to deepen, swallowing them whole. Emilia felt a sense of unease, like she was walking into a nightmare.
As they walked, Jason's words dripped with venom. "You've always been so naive, Emilia. Thinking the world is a safe place, thinking people are good. But I'm here to show you the truth."
Emilia's eyes narrowed. "What truth?"
Jason's smile grew wider. "The truth about the Crimson Clock, sis. The truth about our family's legacy."
Emilia's heart skipped a beat. "What do you know about the Crimson Clock?"
Jason's laughter echoed through the clock tower. "I know everything, sis. And soon, you'll be part of it too."
The clock tower's doors loomed ahead, darkness beckoning. Emilia's heart pounded, her mind racing. What was waiting for her on the other side?
