THE BILLIONAIRE MAFIA BOY IS OBSESSED WITH ME
PAGE 4
Lilith stands frozen in place long after the dust settles and the roar of the engines fades into the night. Her legs feel like jelly, and her hands are shaking so badly that the pepper spray slips from her grasp and clatters onto the concrete.
He knows my name.
The thought loops in her mind like a broken record. How? She has never seen him before in her life. He looks like he stepped out of a magazine—or a crime thriller movie—certainly not from these streets. He was wearing clothes that probably cost more than her entire house.
She bends down to pick up the canister, her fingers trembling. She needs to get home. Now.
She practically runs the rest of the way, the heavy sack bouncing against her back, ignoring the ache in her shoulders. She bursts through the small wooden gate of their home, locking it quickly behind her, sliding the bolt across with a loud CLACK, as if that simple piece of metal could keep the world out.
LOLA ISING
(Ofrom inside the kitchen)
Lilith? Is that you, apo?
LILITH
(Breathless)
Y-yes, Lola. I’m home.
She takes a deep breath, trying to compose herself before walking into the small living room. Her grandmother is sitting in her rocking chair, mending a shirt. The warm light of the bulb casts soft shadows on the walls. It’s so normal, so peaceful, that for a second Lilith wonders if she imagined the entire encounter.
But then she touches her cheek—the spot where his thumb brushed against her skin. She can still feel the heat of his touch, still smell that expensive, intoxicating scent lingering on her clothes.
LOLA ISING
You look pale, child. Are you sick?
LILITH
No, Lola. I’m just tired. Long day at the market.
She forces a smile, but it doesn't reach her eyes. She places the money she earned on the table and the bag of pandesal on the dining table, but her appetite is gone. All she wants to do is lock herself in her room and think.
MEANWHILE...
Inside the tinted sanctuary of the Rolls-Royce Phantom, Draco sits in silence, staring out the window as the slums of Taytay blur past, eventually giving way to the sprawling, gated mansions of the elite.
His right-hand man, Vicious, sits in the front seat, glancing at him through the rearview mirror.
VICIOUS
Boss, are you sure about this? Bringing her into our world... it’s dangerous. She’s just a normal girl. She won’t understand the life.
Draco’s jaw tightens. His eyes are dark, unreadable.
DRACO
That is exactly why she needs me. She’s too pure for this dirty world. She’s out there struggling, carrying heavy loads, risking her life walking alone... while I have the power to give her everything.
VICIOUS
But the enemies... if they find out she exists, she becomes a target, Boss.
Draco turns his head slowly, his gaze sharp and deadly.
DRACO
Let them try. Anyone who so much as looks at her the wrong way dies. Anyone who touches her... I will kill them slowly.
He pulls out his phone, opening the gallery. The screen lights up, revealing dozens of photos. Photos of Lilith.
Pictures of her laughing with Mira. Pictures of her sleeping with her head on her arms at the market stall. Pictures of her studying late at night through the window of her small room. He has been watching her, studying her, memorizing her every move for months.
DRACO
(Softly, to himself)
You’re mine, Lilith. Body and soul. And I’m not going to wait much longer.
He taps a message on his phone, sending it to his private secretary.
"Buy the entire building where her grandmother’s house stands. And buy the lot next to it. Tear everything down. I want a mansion built there by next month. She will want for nothing."
He puts the phone away, a satisfied smirk playing on his lips.
DRACO
Tomorrow, Lilith... tomorrow, you won’t be able to ignore me anymore.
