Chapter 2: The Mummy and the Boss

He Chu San spent the next three days terrified. He didn't know how to write a "gangster movie," so he wrote a very cliché romance: a rich girl and a poor boy fall in love, but a mean gang boss (who suspiciously used dual blades) kidnaps her. The hero saves her, and they live happily ever after.

He proudly showed it to Xia Liu Yi. "Very imposing, right?" he said.

**WHAM!**

Liu Yi didn't like being the villain. He grabbed Chu San by the hair and slammed his head onto the table. Blood splattered everywhere. Liu Yi then held a sharp curry-stick just inches from Chu San’s eye.

"You're trying to curse me, aren't you?" Liu Yi growled. "Rewrite it."

Chu San went home with his head wrapped in bandages. When his father asked what happened, he lied and said a flowerpot fell on him. For the next three days, he was basically kidnapped every morning, forced to write all day, and "delivered" back home at night by thugs.

This time, he decided to praise the gang. He wrote a story about a legendary hero who cuts down forty men with twin blades to save his boss.

Chu San thought he was being smart, but the room went ice-cold. Xiao Ma, Liu Yi's subordinate, whispered, "Wait... that sounds exactly like how Liu Yi-ge actually saved our Big Boss years ago."

Liu Yi looked furious. "Where did you hear this story?"

Before Chu San could explain that "everyone" talked about it, Liu Yi sent him flying across the room. Chu San crashed through stools, hit the wall, and coughed up blood. Liu Yi was about to stab him with a broken chair leg when the door swung open.

In walked **Qinglong**, the Big Boss of the entire gang.

Liu Yi immediately changed. He dropped the chair leg and acted like a spoiled younger brother. He pouted to the Big Boss, "You hit my head with the door! You owe me!" To make it up to him, Qinglong promised Liu Yi a brand-new nightclub to manage.

While the two bosses talked business, the bleeding and broken Chu San was quietly carried out of the room like trash.

Surprisingly, the Big Boss picked up Chu San’s blood-stained script. "Not bad," Qinglong said calmly. "Let's film it exactly like this."

Later that night, Chu San sat on the movie set. He was wrapped in so many bandages—on his chest, arms, and head—that he looked like a **"Mummy Indian Guy."**

He was miserable. He had missed two weeks of university, lost his scholarship, and was stuck working for a man he now considered a monster. He kept his head down, writing dialogue as a small act of silent protest.

Suddenly, a gentle voice startled him.

"What's your name?"

He looked up to see a beautiful, refined woman standing there. It was **Xiaoman**, the lead actress and the sister of the Big Boss.
