Lisa: "Fine. I'll continue working as a private journalist, but I'm also part of your team now. In return, I want a coach—someone who can teach me how to fight those ninja assassins."
I stared at Mr. Stephen as he looked at me in silence.
After a few moments, he finally spoke.
Mr. Stephen: "Alright. We'll arrange a trainer for you, and your training will begin immediately."
I smiled.
Lisa: "Deal."
The next day was Friday, and it was time for the school's cheerleading practice.
I had never been interested in cheerleading before, but I decided to give it a try. It would help me blend in with the other students.
As I walked onto the practice field, a pretty girl approached me and looked at me with obvious disgust.
Girl: "Well, hello, loser. This is the cheerleaders' practice area, not a place for wannabes."
Lisa looked at her, confused.
Lisa: "Um... excuse me, but are you talking to me?"
The girl's expression turned even colder.
Girl: "Oh, so you've got attitude? Do you really think you have what it takes to become one of us?"
Before Lisa could answer, the coach interrupted.
Coach: "Alright, girls! That's enough. Line up for practice."
The girl smirked as she walked away.
Girl: (Sarcastically) "I'll be seeing you."
Lisa: "Honestly, I'd rather not see your face again."
The girl glared at Lisa before walking off.
Lisa sighed and headed toward the practice area.
Suddenly, she bumped into someone.
Lisa: "Oh! I'm so, so sorry."
She quickly turned to leave, but before she could take another step, she slipped.
For a brief moment, memories of the hospital flashed through her mind.
Just before she hit the ground, someone caught her by the hand and pulled her back up.
As she regained her balance, she looked up and froze.
It was the same boy she had tied up a few nights earlier.
Feeling embarrassed, Lisa lowered her head.
Lisa: "Thank you..."
The boy simply nodded without saying a word.
Lisa watched him walk away, wondering why he had helped her so easily after everything she had done to him.
For some reason, she couldn't stop thinking about him.I could still feel his dark gaze on me as I walked away to cheerleading practice.
After practice ended, I went to the locker room to change. Unfortunately, the last person I wanted to see was waiting for me.
It was the rude girl from earlier.
Lisa: (Sighing) "Ugh... you again."
Girl: "For your information, my name is Chloe."
Lisa: "What do you want?"
Chloe: (Smirking) "Do you have any idea what I can do to you?"
Lisa: (Unimpressed) "Blah, blah, blah. If you're done talking, I'd like to change my clothes, so please get out of the locker room."
Without waiting for a response, Lisa walked past Chloe and began changing.Later that evening, after I got home from school, I received a phone call from Mr. Stephen.
He told me to meet him at an abandoned gym.
A few hours later, I arrived. Inside were Mr. Stephen and another woman.
Mr. Stephen: "Lisa, I'd like you to meet your combat trainer, Helena."
The woman stepped forward and smiled.
Helena: "Nice to meet you."
Lisa: "Likewise."
Mr. Stephen: "Alright, enough introductions. Let's begin your training."
