"Green was just a colour to him until he saw her eyes. They were as pure as a crystal, as deep as ocean and as bright as fireflies," Trevor.
It has been fours hours since he had graced his presence in the office and with the amount of work his cousin was making him to do, Trevor needed take a break. It was one of those mornings Trevor hated to get out of his comfortable mattress. He hated monday mornings. Why does it take too long for the weekend to come and why does it end so quick. His head was aching, it must be the amount of alcohol he had consumed the other night, he groaned, as the tip of his fingers brushed his neatly combed hair.
His head was still spinning because of the alcohols effect. If it was not for the work given by Adrian, his feet wouldn't have touched the floor early in the morning. Adrian was not only his cousin but also his business partner. While Adrian was a cold and distant man, Trevor was easier to approach. Closing the files and turning on the computer, he went through the details of the interviewees to kill his boredom. He scrolled and scrolled and scrolled until his eyes found something interesting.
Forest green eyes, the woman had forest green eyes, he grinned like a child who found his lost candy in the fridge. Just when he thought his day was boring, he found something that captured his attention. Trevor skimmed through her qualifications and her details. He couldn't believe that he saw her after fourteen years, the little girl turned out to be a fine lady; just in the way a bud blooms into a beautiful spring flower. They never had a proper conversation at that time but for some reason, the girl managed to settle somewhere in the young boy's heart for a period of time.
But now he was a grown up man, a handsome one, a charmer, to be more specific. He deined the fact that he felt something for her at that time but he couldn't deny the way his fingers froze on the mouse as soon as his eyes found her on the screen.
After all, she was the first one who made him stutter for the first time in his life.
His hands made their way to the telephone that was on one side of his desk. Not delaying any other moment, he called one of his employee. After giving his orders, he relaxed on his chair with a grin. He didn't know what made him excited. Was it because he found the girl after fourteen years or was it because of the alcohol.
It must be the alcohol, he reasoned to himself. Though he knew that was not the case.
A few minutes later, Trevor heard an expected knock on his door. When she stood right in front of him, he couldn't help but recollect the time she made a cup of coffee for him.
"Skylar Byrne, is it?" he asked, though he knew her name.
"Get me a cup of coffee, Ms. Byrne," he knew that she must've taken by surprise but the girl didn't show it on her face, it was her eyes that couldn't hide what was on her mind.
Trevor looked at his watch as soon as she left his room. Eight minutes, he looked at his watch again when he saw her again with a cup of coffee. Not bad, he thought. She was not familiar with the place, yet she manged to find the pantry. He thought Skylar would take at least fifteen minutes but she proved him wrong and that only made him feel proud of the quick decision he had made.
"Your coffee, Mr. Wolfrick," came her voice in a professional tone.
With a smile, Trevor took the cup from her hand and tasted it. It has been years and he forgot how her coffee tasted but he did not forget how his taste buds felt.
Luscious, was what he thought in that very instance and his eyes never left from her. Like a hawk that observed eveything, he observed her but not in a way she felt uncomfortable.
"Good to see you again, Ms. Byrne," His voice was calm and gentle with a touch of warmth in his tone which disappeared the next moment. "Hope you won't let me down and I do not appreciate tardiness," one corner of his lips quirked up into a smile.
Skylar furrowed her eyesbrows. It was not because of what he spoke at the beginning but it was the latter that made her wonder what his words meant. He could've told her his plans but he didn't, it was good to see her clueless.
"I don't understand... Mr. Wolfrick," came her response, as he took another sip from his cup.
Their conversation was interrupted by knock, it was Mrs. Bates who had come with few papers in her hand and handed them to Trevor and another copy of it to Skylar before leaving his room.
To say that she was shocked would be an understatement. She could feel her hands turn cold and her feet felt numb. For a second, she thought it was a dream.
"Thank you," her voice was filled with gratefulness. "But why?" she couldn't help but ask him as why she was given the job.
"Why not?" was his reply.
Her emotions were a mixed feeling of shock and happiness. A smile broke out through her lips which made his smile brighter than it was when she walked into his room. The room fell in silence but a smile was plastered on her face as she continued to read what was written on the paper.
'His personal secretary'
So that was what she was appointed for, his personal secretary. Skylar had no clue as what made him appoint her as his personal secretary but she didn't dare of posing another question to him.
"You can start working from next" he said, gaining her attention.
"Alright," she replied to see him nod. He wanted to know everything about her but he restrained himself from asking any personal questions at that moment.

The very next week after completing all the formalities that were needed, Skylar went to her new office early in the morning only to be welcomed by unwelcomed stares by her new colleagues. Skylar smiled when she came across Mrs. Bates, but the woman looked away and Skylar didn't have any clue as to why she was being stared that way.
As if heavens had heard her prayers, Trevor came right in time as if to save her from the unwanted attention she was receiving. She saw every staff member greet him in respect as he walked past them but his movements came to a halt only when he was right in front of her.
"Good morning," he smiled at her. People who heard him, exchanged blank glances with their colleagues. It was very unusual for them to see their boss greet an employee and that only heightened their box of doubts.
"Good morning, Mr. Wolfrick," she chirpped, and received his dimpled smiled in return.
"Let me show you around before I shower you with loads of work," he chuckled at his own words and started to walk knowing that she would follow his lead.
The girl stayed in silence, she followed him and nodded her head with a yes or shook her head with a no whenever for every question that was directed to her from him. He understood that she speaks less but Trevor had his own ways to get his answers from a person.
"Is something bothering you, Ms. Byrne?" he asked her and turned his head to look at her, "I need words not your head movements. I'm afraid you might sprain your neck with the way you are moving it for every question I'm asking you."
"What makes you think that way, Mr. Wolfrick," she replied, ignoring his comment about her neck.
"I see that you are not yourself right now. What is it?" he asked, not taking his gaze away from her and Skylar felt as if she was under spotlight under his gaze.
"I'm just nervous," came her voice but Trevor could tell that might not be the only reason.
He tilted his head only to glare at his workers who stopped their work and were staring at them, he understood what made the girl uncomfortable though she didn't tell him, she didn't like people staring at her. With one deadly glance that came from him, the workers resumed their work after keeping their curiosity aside. Trevor was not a clueless person to not understand their curiousity. He would've surely played a game with their curiosity if he was with someone else but it was Skylar who was by his side and with the girl beside him, he didn't want to do something reckless and hurt her.
